Wilson and his brother and sister have just arrived with SLR. They are a cross of two types of Lurcher. Saluki x Grey and Colie x Grey. They are currently in Hampshire but Belle has secured a home. All pups have received their first vaxes, and been microchipped and wormed. We have strict re-homing criteria, we consult past vets and neighbours and will only rehome pups to Adopters who are home most of the time. That does not mean to someone who pops in lunchtimes. We do not rehome pups to full-time workers, or shift workers, and will do all checks before rehoming. Please do not contact us to try to persuade us otherwise. Of all the types of dogs, Lurchers suffer separation anxiety the most. This is one of the biggest reasons that dogs are coming into the Rescue. Wilson can be rehomed before his second vaccination as long as his Adopter's own Vet has a compatible vaccine. Otherwise he will have his second vaccination in two weeks time. This is Wilson.

It looks as though Wilson will be broken (rough) coated - he has the cutest little beard already

All the pups have been well socialised, take a keen interest in whatever's going on are very happy and nicely confident. Wilson always want's to know what's coming next, and he weighed 6.0kg at 1st vaccination. He is just scrummy!
ETA: The make of vax is Canigen DHPPi and Lepto 2

Yes, it's official ... I had forgotten about the time and eyes in the back of my head required with a little furry baby in the house. I take my hat off to their first foster mum for all those weeks or care, love and attention for the four of them. Thank you!
Lovely to meet Sheila and Roy today and of course Bear and Belle when Henry and I popped over to collect a very chilled Wilson. All absolutely adorable. We can't get over how confident and calm they are.
No fuss at all on the short journey home. Introductions went well with Alfie taking it his stride however Suki a little hesitant. She is still not sure who this little bundle of energy and inquisitiveness is running around and taking over so we have to ensure that she gets her special time too.
We enjoyed Terry (Topofal) and Wendy (can't remember ... was it Benjismum?) popping over along with Jilly who you may remember had a little foster. Wilson not at all phased by anyone and loves people as much as the intrigue of Alf and Suki.
He did bow play and really would have loved A and S to play however they were holding back. Barking from Suki as if to say. Who are you and dont you know who I am?None of which phased him.
He is sitting next to me at the moment dreaming away and making adorable little noises. The other two are snoozing on the other sofa.
3.00ish he had a little drink of puppy milk followed by a scrambled egg and a little kibble at about 5 which he promptly sicked up whilst in the garden. I guess too much excitement and running around. Will try him with a little weetabix and warm milk a bit later.
Looking at him snoozing next to me with his little legs fidgeting like anything I have some time to really appreciate his gorgeous markings. A pale tiger cub. He has his back legs crossed in a most elegant manner.
He has a lovely long thin tail and is quick on his feet.
Had a few puddles inside however he uses his mats. I do have a few scattered around but do t think that it is a case of getting lucky. A bright little chap.
It will be strange for him in his crate tonight without his siblings and despite a cover over it I think that Paul will sleep downstairs just to ease him into things.
Photos to follow.
Oh I forgot ... he has little tufts of black beard sticking out of the side of his lower jay. So adorable. As though a strand of jet black wool has attached itself to him.
I still cannot believe how calm and well socialised this little chap is. Thank you first foster mum! Huge admiration.

Weeetabix and warm milk 10ish then out for his business. P stayed with Wilson downstairs whilst H and I watched a movie upstairs. P said that he was very good. Didnt like being put into his crate for bedtime and howled for a few minutes which seemed like an eternity but then settled as P was nearby. 5.30am I was awoken with puppy kisses ... hmnnn ... he soon settled back into his bedroom until 8.30!
Had games outside, lots of running around and exploring here after his brekkie. Put him into his crate with his toys and a cold carrot stick as it is now 10.40 and I need to get showered and dressed. A few half hearted cries.
Suki still not at all sure of him. Alfie being his usual adorable self in that he lets Wilson jump over him, nip him then tells him off and walks away and then returns to check that he is ok. I see that Alfie has just gone downstairs to check on Wilson as all is quiet.
Such an adorable, full of beans, clever, very loving, intelligent, very inquisitive little chap. He brings the ball back ... most of the time! Sat for his brekkie.
Seems to be hungry a lot and has no qualms whatsoever in trying to dig into Suki and Alfi's grub. They all sat together (Wilson for a nano second) for a treat last night (a few pieces of his kibble for Wilson).
He knows to piddle on his mat however sometimes does not get the positioning quite right.
He keeps trying to chew the wicker toy basket.
Thinks it is tremendous fun to race under the sofa, hunch down and stick his head out whilst barking and a happy fun growl waiting for a playmate then dashing off at speed to return for another session.
Has he missed his siblings? I don't know! I am pleased that P was with him downstairs last night as I guess he would have felt a little lonely ... Wilson that is!
I had forgotten that having a puppy is hard work and getting used to the toys all over the place, piddle mats scattered, keeping an eye on chewing, not being able to just pop out, feeding every four odd hours during the day, lots of cuddles and playing, ushering into the garden regularly, naps during the day, etc but so so worth it.

Taken over and immediately reorganised the household to suit himself then I see - I expected nothing less of little Wilson and knew he would settle with you easily!
Belle and Bear have just left on their journey with Loz and Andrew, and Saffy is now in the living room taking treats and giving the pen and crate a very hard stare as if to say the sooner you leave the better it will jolly well be too.
We're planning to go out with Saff for a few hours and settle her back into her usual routine, then just sleep without constantly listening!
