Good to hear from you Sheila as I have been wondering how you all are without your babies and sending you virtual kisses from Wilson who at the moment is fast asleep (roaching) on my lap whilst we listen to the rain splattering knowing that the two boys along with Alfie and Suki are traipsing around Moors Valley. Hope you dont get too wet whilst out with Saffy and that she will soon forgive you.
Suki tried to play with Wilson this morning which was so sweet but she is not too sure. All three had a sort of get together. Wifi died otherwise H would have videoed it. Sorry.
I am supposed to be getting food ready and jobs done but just could not help myself. Made a coffee and luxuriating in puppy cuddles. Wilson is a real cuddle monster and just loves to give kisses. The welcome this morning when I came downstairs was heart warming. Paul and Henry take note!
I had left the dustpan and brush on the floor near the utility room. Returned to use them but they had gone! The rascal had been and removed them on two separate visits I guess and was hoarding them on the mat by the door out to the garden.
Wishing Loz, Andrew, Belle and Bear safe travels and thanks to all involved.
Ooo I think I am being gassed out by this little chap who is making sweet little contented noises and it is terribly relaxing sitting here but I need some air and to get on.
Enjoyed his scrambled egg and kibble for brekkie then rice and sardine in oil for elevenses. A little roast chicken breast and kibble for lunch I think. I tried him with a little bit of rice on its own just out of interest but not good enough for him!

I just can't imagine the work you had to do, Lesley, in rearing these well adjusted, confident little bundles on fun. Thank you.
What did you call your little one and is he / she a brindle too?

I am loving your updates Nancy - not just because Wilson is a gorgeous bundle of cuteness, but because it shows just how much hard, time-consuming work puppies really are. It is good for potential adopters to realize that apart from the fun and the lovely cuddles puppies can be mucky, destructive and totally frustrating at times. Please give that adorable little brindle baby a from me.

Oh my goodness Romi ... the disruption and any form of routine or time keeping this week-end has totally gone out of the window so I will have to get myself sorted tomorrow. Lesley, Wilson is so full of beans, nose into everything going on and if nothing is of interest he is more than happy to occupy himself and find something to keep himself busy. You have done such a wonderful job with all the gorgeous babies. Thank you! He loves his food and this afternoon sat for his food without me asking! A couple of piddle misses on the mats bless him but he definitely knows what to do. He didn't relish going out in the rain so I had to accompany him which did the trick. Lots of playing, cuddles and adventure today. I had a four hour round trip taking Henry back to school this evening so left Wilson with Paul. Poor P did not get much done. The welcome home kisses from all three dogs was a treat indeed. Suki still not sure of Wilson and shies away from him most of the time. She did try and entice him into a game but only half heartedly and he was too busy trying to Alfie who is so very patient with him. Wilson is not one bit bothered by Suki and will either scoot off or have a little barking stand off. When I got back the two older babies received a treat and Wilson a few of his kibble. Alfie had just put his treat down to start eating when a little rascal rushed in, grabbed it and scampered off as fast as anything to 'his' mat by the door with me rushing after him to retrieve the treat. It was amusing. Poor Alfie just stood there. Wilson was rather interested in what food was on the counter and I had to say the dreaded No as he was trying to jump up however stopped straight away. P sleeping downstairs again tonight. My turn tomorrow then I think we might try him on his own. He is very happy in his crate and in fact took himself off there whilst I was cooking lunch. Hard work all this puppy malarkey!

A tip. Don't sleep downstairs. Leave him and if he cries go back and say it's okay and go to sleep. Leave him to cry for a little while, about 3 minutes and then go back and in a sterner voice say, go to sleep. Then leave him to cry. No going back. Each night you sleep down there with him will make it worse. Better to start from the outset. I am a cruel foster mum!

Yes ... overload ... couldn't decide which one or perhaps feeling a tad tired to think about it!
Wilson did not have an 'off' button this morning and his nosey disposition certainly came to the fore. Very sweet and wonderful to see but a tremendous amount of patience required when having just swept up for a second time this morning and collected a sizeable pile of hair, fluff, bits of kibble, chewed bits and pieces and reached up for the dustpan and brush (learnt not to leave it unattended on the floor) for the rascal, quick as a flash, to find something that interests him amongst the pile and now sticking to his chin. He had just had his weetabix and puppy milk which helped to glue it on. Sooooo, if anyone thinking about getting a puppy reads this and does not have the enormous amount of patience or time to put in don't get a puppy but think about the many older dogs looking for their forever homes.
Paul has taken Suki and Alfie out (Suki will relish this as she is still not at all sure of this bundle of energy and I doubt she will be) She tolerates him and will take a wide detour to avoid him. Perhaps because he stands up to her and is not all all intimidated about rushing up to her or nipping in and eating her food right under her chin. She, along with Alf, just let him so we have to vigilant as obviously he is on puppy food.
I think he felt unsettled this morning as it dawned on him that he didn't have the other canines with him hence shadowing me and wanting some love and cuddles.
Both Alf and Wilson asleep on the sofa. Wilson snuggled into Alf so I will sneak off and mop before those needle teeth attack the mop. He finds it highly entertaining hanging onto the broom as I sweep. Sheila, have not had the flying broom yet!
Am trying to say 'stay and wait' when he is outside and at least allow me in first. First lesson was this morning.

Thanks for the tip Jenny and we welcome that suggestion. Just thought that due to us being 'higher up' in the house he would feel overwhelmed with space but will try it tonight ... especially as I was going to suggest that I sleep downstairs!
Can I give him some dried sprats soaked in warm water?

Lots of kisses, snuggles and love back to gorgeous B and B too and of course Lesley's baby.
Wilson brings the ball back beautifully which he knew how to do when he arrived. He sits for his food and sat by the door so that I could get into the house but I hasten to add that that was a one off. He is very quick and happy to learn though.
Greets everyone like a very long lost friend and gives lots of kisses. He does like his snuggle time.
His timing is impeccable as soon after I had mentioned to P that I was sure he had grown since Saturday he came rushing round at full speed and took a mighty leap onto the sofa which he could not do before. It was perfect. We are sure, too, that his needle sharp teeth have got sharper or perhaps he is becoming more brazen.
Have to stop him from attacking our clothes, hair, toes, socks. Caught him trying to chew the corner of the sofa.
He has the choice of a few beds to sleep in and has one in particular that he likes ... good viewing point ... but he took himself off to sleep in his crate whilst a dear friend popped in for a natter. I didn't have the heart to ask her if she wouldnt mind if I mopped whilst we chatted knowing that Mr Inquisitive was snoozing. Better get on a get it done now.
Have to be so organised and also flexible I am finding. Sheila, you had the best idea with the pen attached to the crate. I will hunt out our rabbit pen but dont want to scratch the new tiles. Also have some garden fencing like you had but as you said they were soon mastering how to escape.
He was trying to chew the granite corner in the kitchen!! Changed the wicker basket purely as I did not want it spoilt. Tries to chew the large plastic dog beds. Have loads of chew toys scattered around amongst the array of piddle mats and he thoroughly enjoys rummaging through the toy box. I was surprised at how many 'puppy' toys I had ...
I have to go out into the garden with him. Tried just popping him out as it was raining and I didn't want to go and get my coat but he likes to have someone or another dog there.

Yes, it's official ... I had forgotten about the time and eyes in the back of my head required with a little furry baby in the house. I take my hat off to their first foster mum for all those weeks or care, love and attention for the four of them. Thank you! Lovely to meet Sheila and Roy today and of course Bear and Belle when Henry and I popped over to collect a very chilled Wilson. All absolutely adorable. We can't get over how confident and calm they are. No fuss at all on the short journey home. Introductions went well with Alfie taking it his stride however Suki a little hesitant. She is still not sure who this little bundle of energy and inquisitiveness is running around and taking over so we have to ensure that she gets her special time too. We enjoyed Terry (Topofal) and Wendy (can't remember ... was it Benjismum?) popping over along with Jilly who you may remember had a little foster. Wilson not at all phased by anyone and loves people as much as the intrigue of Alf and Suki. He did bow play and really would have loved A and S to play however they were holding back. Barking from Suki as if to say. Who are you and dont you know who I am?None of which phased him. He is sitting next to me at the moment dreaming away and making adorable little noises. The other two are snoozing on the other sofa. 3.00ish he had a little drink of puppy milk followed by a scrambled egg and a little kibble at about 5 which he promptly sicked up whilst in the garden. I guess too much excitement and running around. Will try him with a little weetabix and warm milk a bit later. Looking at him snoozing next to me with his little legs fidgeting like anything I have some time to really appreciate his gorgeous markings. A pale tiger cub. He has his back legs crossed in a most elegant manner. He has a lovely long thin tail and is quick on his feet. Had a few puddles inside however he uses his mats. I do have a few scattered around but do t think that it is a case of getting lucky. A bright little chap. It will be strange for him in his crate tonight without his siblings and despite a cover over it I think that Paul will sleep downstairs just to ease him into things. Photos to follow. Oh I forgot ... he has little tufts of black beard sticking out of the side of his lower jay. So adorable. As though a strand of jet black wool has attached itself to him. I still cannot believe how calm and well socialised this little chap is. Thank you first foster mum! Huge admiration. Thank you so much for all the love and care you are giving to little Wilson, [teddy] Bear and little Belle, it reassures me immensely to hear all about their progress and see the photos. I know how much work they are, but you are all brilliant and they are so worth it. Thank you all. Much love Lesley xx
