So Wilson graduated from puppy class with flying colours. He was second in the little agility course and that was because of handler error π He now has to put all he's learnt into practice so lots and lots of training being done. He has been doing some very basic agility, learning to go over poles and between and around things. He has some lovely tricks he can do, he can give 5, bow and pray to name a few, with lots more planned. He's also learnt one of his toys by name and will go and find it when asked on occasions π He and Alfie are so great together, they now regularly share a bed during the day. Although he can still get under Alfie, it's not quite so easy, he's getting sooooo tall. He is such a good boy all round with the usual puppy mischief. My washing is not safe hanging out on the line, it's such a great game, obviously all hung up there for his entertainment and doesn't matter how high it is, he can leap! Out and about he is learning things are not that scary. He enjoys his walks and armed with lots of treats we set off to see what we encounter. His confidence is building and he's very good. His teeth have been falling out so lots of chew toys but it doesn't seem to be really bothering him. I've managed to save a couple of them. Well I'm being told I've been sat here long enough by two long noses so I better make a move. Love to all his siblings and foster families xox

Ha ha all I saw yesterday has the washing moving and thought it's not windy enough for that so looked out, he was about four feet off the ground mid leap when I saw him! π€£ He managed to get hold of a sleeve and pull my dressing gown down. His prize was one of the pegs that gave up hanging on to the line π Went out to recover it and took my dressing gown in which was, fortunately, dry anyway. π€£

I once strung a line up about six foot high. I dangled dog treats, balls and toys from it. Out two dogs had a great time jumping up for them.

Great update - he is a very smart boy. It sounds like your agility trainers are doing right and taking it easy with your lad, learning skills with no impact on his young joints. (PS If something goes wrong its always the handler's fault in my experience )

Well it's hard to believe the pups are a year old now, how they've grown. So I thought it was about time I put up an update on Wilson. He is now a strapping young lad standing about 26", which is an inch taller than his brother, and weighing in at 24.4kilos, again more than his brother. He is still very skinny as it doesn't seem to matter how much he gets to eat, he doesn't put on weight. Something I can only dream off, sigh! The two boys have settled into life together, though Wilson tends to be the pushy one. Alfie is too much of a softie, unless it's one of his chews then he lets Wilson know he has to steer clear, politely though (he doesn't always listen, he tends to push his luck a bit π) It became obvious at a very young age that Wilson had absolutely no concept of personal space and this has not changed at all! It's rather amusing at times and now he is too much heavier, it can be painful too, when he lands on you! He walks well on the lead but is still very excited and anxious to meet everyone, we're working on it. He's well motivated with toys as a reward, he loves loves loves his tug toys. When he gets hold, he doesn't let go and boy, can he tug! Are you sure there is no terrier in him?? He adores chasing a ball and is great at finding and retrieving it though the return is still a work in progress. He is much faster than his brother and always gets the ball first, which is a shame for Alfie as it puts him off playing, though we seem to have come to an unwritten agreement, Wilson has his ball and Alfie, his. Generally, they don't tend to want each others or should I say Wilson will get his thrown first which they both cause but then Alfie turns and he gets his one thrown, Wilson is otherwise occupied most times so Alfie gets his. Because of Wilson's pushiness, Alfie does suffer somewhat if we play games as Wilson barges in first. I do feel sorry for Alfie as he doesn't have a pushy bone in his body and just lets Wilson get in there, though you can see he would like to play. We find ways round it. So anyway after all that, here are some long awaited pictures of the boy - Check the length of those legs!! And he loves to paddle in the old metal bath we have and dip his snout in. He regularly comes back with all sorts of seeds tangled in his beard! Fortunately he doesn't really mind being brushed, even his beard. I absolutely adore his beard and shaggy look, does he by any chance have deerhound in him too? Is he the only one with a rough coat? I'd love to see some of the other pups from the rest of the litter. Well, lots of love to everyone from us all and especially Wilson. Bye for now xox

Lovely update on Wilson. Now he is one he may start to fill out? Happy Birthday. x Alfie is a handsome hound and looks like a more symmetrical markings version of my non-pushy boy Harpo. x

What a super update and fabulous to see and receive news on another special boy. We still talk fondly about him. Wow ... those long legs and that gorgeous beardy face. It would be great to see and hear how his siblings are doing. Thanks for your text Marianne and love from Alfie and Suki!

Wow, itβs lovely to see Wilson all grown up π His mannerisms sound identical to his brother Bear! Bear is full of life (also 26β and 25kg!) incredibly cuddly and plays full on with anyone and everything! (We have to be careful out on walks as he often bowls over dogs smaller than him!) I would love to see the brothers play together one day, where abouts are you? Lots of love Bear π»π

Hi Emma,
We are in Wiltshire, near Chippenham so a bit of a trek I think. It would be great for them to meet and see if they remember each other. Bear is a very handsome boy and, though you can see similarities, their coats are so different. I think they would match each other nicely by the sounds of it. Wilson is so fast and jumps like a gazelle. He is learning to catch a frisbee and to see him leap for it is something else. He is much faster than his brother Alfie, we sometimes see the tables turned these days and it is now Alfie doing the chasing, Wilson leading. How he has grown π It would be lovely to see if we could arrange a meet sometime. Lots of love to you and Bear from Wilson and us all here xox π
