Ha ha, you all make me laugh when you describe the little darlings antics. Welcome to my world!! You forget how frantic life becomes with puppies when we have been used to living with our beautiful, calm older hounds. You make me feel less of a lightweight when I started to feel that I couldn't cope with the four of the gorgeous little horrors.. Thank you all soooo much. Please give them a big hug and kisses from me. Love Lesley. Xx

I just can't imagine the work you had to do, Lesley, in rearing these well adjusted, confident little bundles on fun. Thank you. What did you call your little one and is he / she a brindle too? My little Miss messy is called Esther and she is fawn and white. I would load a photo, but don't know how too. Thank you so much for everything. Love Lesley. Xx If you start a thread in hello, you can introduce yourself and Esther and the lovely Deers. If you are able to email over a photo to me I will put it on the thread. Jennyx p.s. Nancy. Put a quilt or old sheet over the crate tonight. x

Can't wait to see her photo. Love the name too. I am terrible at all this technical stuff however I take a photo on my iPad which is not the greatest quality I'm afraid then have a look on where you would type a comment ... box just above the white box on the left 'Add photo to post' press that then choose the photo box and you should then see the photo. Wait a second for it to upload then press 'Post Quick Reply'. I have no idea how to download off my phone.
Thanks Jenny. I have some covers over his bedroom and half of the floor has a cosy duvet whilst the other a piddle mat. Also have a carrot and toys in there too.

Jenny kindly offered to load some photos for me if I emailed them to her. I've tried, but heavens knows what I've done!!!!! I'm glad you like Esther's name, thank you.same as Ann's girlie, which is a bit spooky. I'm really loving reading and seeing pics of the pups that all you lovely people are posting. (Thank you for your help regards photos, but most of mine are on my phone or laptop. Actually I could try to send from laptop. Always use my tablet to look at forum. Might give it a go) The puppies are quite familiar with the word NO, as you can imagine they heard it rather alot, ha ha. They were mostly paper trained, Wilson's particular favourite occupation was paper shredding. They all had their own jobs.... Bear, mops and brooms, Esther singing and Belle thinking and assessing before joining in with the general havoc. Good luck to you all. Love Lesley x

The game for today is to ambush me every five seconds and attached those sharp needles to my jeans and tug and tug for all his worth. Failing that it is attacking my sleeves and / or hair. Piddling on the mat is excellent and positioning is improving however poos are very hit and miss. Thank goodness for tiles. Understandably Wilson does not like to be left on his own. He loves to follow Alfie and copy what he does. Gives him the gentlest little kisses. He did sneak a quick in with Suki this evening who is softening towards him. He just has to respect her personal space. They did play a little ... well ... plenty time barking involved. Lots of crying going on at the moment as it is bedtime. Bless him. Just want to be there consoling him. Had to go down with my stern voice which I didn't like but guess what ... a little more noise and whimpering and now all is quiet. He is such a good boy. Can't wait to see him again in the morning!

Jenny,I'm sure your advice regarding leaving puppies on their own overnight is absolutely correct unfortunately young Wilson hasn't read the same rule book! We are however making progress. Today he has really improved in terms of bid ability and has slept on a number of occasions with Alf and Suki on their private sofa as if he's part of the gang. This boy is going to be a fantastic companion for some lucky family. 1.Lovely character ,fun ,inquisitive, gregarious with a permanent wag in his tail. 2.Really intelligent. 3.Gorgeous looking. 4.Will be a splendid athlete But enough about me. I'd keep him as a ff if The Boss would allow (but she won't) as he fits in well with other dogs ,is not over sensitive when they tell him off and appears to have barrell loads of doggy charm -our 2 love him.

Tiring is an understatement however as he lies snuggled next to me, emitting little contented sounds, as I type I forget the constant 'eyes in the back of my head', especially when all is quiet, trying to gently encouarage him out into the constant drizzle we have been having for his wee etc., cooking chicken, rice, mince ahead for his food, howling when he is put to bed, up a few times to quieten him, (P was down at 1am for a piddle ... Wilson not P ... or perhaps P too, too tired to ask), 6am wake up call, making enough time for cuddles and playing, piddle mats and toys everywhere, cleaning up wee and poo - thankfully the one time he was sick he was in the garden, trying to chew the plants or dig, what is he chewing next? ... rather likes the sofas and loves the hand and kitchen towels but not shy at trying out the concrete either.
I need to get to the bank etc today but can't just pop out at will - all these to think about. Also want to get showered and dressed and do some overdue housework/paperwork.
He is absolutely adorable and as P has said earlier we would love to keep him as he has fitted in brilliantly but we won't and can't.
His prospective parents need to realise the hard work involved in having a puppy and nurturing, helping and enjoying its transition into a confident happy adult. Can't just think 'oh it says that it is house trained, take it on and that is that ... it certainly is not ... all the piddling and pooing still has to be monitored and plenty of letting them outside but the chewing goes on for a lot longer too. We are by no means as experienced as others but this is pretty basic.
Sounds a bit harsh but we all want the very best for all our babies, both young and old.

What a balanced, honest and enjoyable update on this adorable boy. You are doing a great job and he is having such a great start with you and your pack. Prospective adopters will be fully aware of what they are taking on and that gives everyone involved the best possible chance of success. Good luck with the ever-challenging f.b. It is a law unto itself and has had steam coming out of my ears this morning already xx

You are doing a great job Nancy. Such a shame about this horrid weather. No good for 'potty' training.

Ok Jenny will let P know and will try to re-send. Terry and Wendy are popping over later so guaranteed better photos!
Great idea for little Esther who looks a real sweetie.
Heather - I am thankful for the paving and Astro turf but must remember to tell P that we need a veranda! Do pop over if you fancy!
Right ... really must get ready ...

Have just been out in the garden, along with Alf and Wilson, doing a poo patrol, checking on the new plants, playing etc. Just before T and W arrive. Probably out about 10 minutes. Left the door open so that Wilson could pop out. Popped into the utility room to clean his bowl. Hmnnnn ... what's that smell. He has pooed ... on his mat though ....

Hello Nancy, lovely photos of little Wilson. Thank you for all your doing for him. I can totally relate to your earlier comments, they totally test your stamina and ''sanity''. Esther is the same, no one should contemplate taking on a young puppy unless they are totally aware of what's involved. We must have forgotten or are dissallusioned!! Ha ha xx

Good to hear from you Lesley. Hard enough with one let alone four or two!
As I type Suki is sitting on the sofa chewing ... very noisily and not at all ladylike ... on a chew which Wilson likes to play with but he is stretched out sleeping next to her. Suki now stopped and sleeping. Progress indeed.
Quick as a flash Wilson was out of the door into the garden and before I could start to say No he was digging like mad. Only soil and bark chipping. He does like to dig and chew plants. Lavender heads missing this morning.
Adores having visitors and behaves impeccably. Greets them like long lost friends.
Wilson loves to snuggle. Extremely loving.
Sits for his food.
Did not mind being brushed for the nano second he was still and I did brave his sharp teeth to lift his lips and get him used to having his mouth looked at but fidget box would not keep still.
I have hand fed him a bit so that he can get used to it i.e. for meds
Does not like to be left on his own yet
Up a few times due to his howling but after a check that he is ok, a gentle go to sleep and then a firmer that's enough he settles.
Recall this morning when he dashed into the garage ... non existent.

Hello Nancy, just having a quiet moment as she taking a little nap (I'm sure it's a falasy that puppies need a lot of sleep), who made that one up?? Sorry about your garden, Wilson and Esther did love to dig, ripping grass up with their teeth and then digging like mad. Didn't matter too much as out in chicken paddock. Perhaps your poor lavender heads will help him sleep? They really really love people don't they? I have quite a few visitors with lots of cuddles, so they just expect love and attention. Gonna try and mop the floor while she's asleep. As you say, thank heavens for tiles....onwards ands upwards xx

Hello Lesley.
Hope you got your jobs done.
Wilson is such a joy, quick to learn and responsive to the word No the majority of the time.
Today we started to pop him into his crate after he has had a play and is relaxed for 20-30 mins enabling us to get things done - he is fine with that.
A dear little chap.
