Joe has come into SLR through holding kennels. No known history but has a fused hock from an old break. He doesn't appear to be in pain, but these dogs get used to pain and just live with it. Joe will be going under anaesthetic tomorrow to be neutered and also have the leg x-rayed at the joint and higher up to determine what to do next. Joe is around 4 years old, and the wound could be a year or so old. Joe is currently being fostered in Dorset on the Hampshire borders.

Joe is a really super dog. He came to the door when I arived at Romi's and greeted me like an old friend. When it was time to start back he hopped up into the car of his own accord, lay down, and I didn't see his head come up until we reached Yvonne's. He wasn't so sure about jumping down out of the car, but allowed me to lift him down. Yvonne took him straight off for a short walk round the block, and I saw him lollop along beside her wagging his tail.
He will be such a happy boy when his leg is sorted, and I know Graham will do his best for him. Fingers and paws crossed that the prognosis is good.......

Smokey Joe had a really good nights sleep zonked out after his castration,he came home and ate chicken and fish, said hi to all my dogs, wondered around,he was too excited to see every one to sleep ,but come bed time he really needed his sleep,he has had breakfast and lying on the settee now,Graham, the vet has emailed Jenny with the results, which im sure she will post ,but from what i understand his leg is a mess ,his knee cap is high up on his leg and he has bits of broken bone ,no cartlidge ,and he would like to get hold of whoever left him in this state. He is emailing the results to a specialist to see what he thinks.Hopefully one fri at Joes appointment the vet will let us know what route they will be taking.

Glad Joe is doing okay after his op yesterday. Both and to hear about his leg. I echo what your vet said, would love to get hold of the person who has done this to this beautiful boy.
