No-one would believe how soft his coat is. It's just the softest texture. And so is Dave.

Poor Dave is still with the Rescue. He was rehomed to a lovely home, who already had an SLR doglet. They live in a small village. Unfortunately Dave was out on a public walk with his adopters and a fence protecting a wallaby was not secured. Dave saw the wallaby jump off and he gave chase, going through the fence and pinned the wallaby down. It died. Not Dave's fault, any dog in that position, hound or not would have given chase to an animal suddenly moving like that. As they live near to the small mini farm where it happened, they have had some reprisals, and so have had to ask us to take Dave back into the Rescue for his own safety. Dave IS cat friendly, and has slotted back into his foster home with Christina beautifully. My own dogs have killed squirrels, birds, and even tried to get a cat, but luckily it barricaded itself behind some fencing. Dogs chase wildlife, and it's a fact. Just a sad circumstance and I am sure that had this not happened, then Dave would still be happily on his forever sofa. He IS a lovely lovely dog with a super nature to go with it. Don't pass him over, give him a chance. He will reward you will such love and devotion.

That is a complete tragedy for all involved. Such a freak accident with such terrible consequences. And Jenny is right - Im sure the majority of dogs on this forum would have responded in the same way. There but for the grace of god go we.
I hope very much that this is the end of the sadness and that Dave is given another chance. doG knows he deserves it.

Dave is such a lovely boy. We walk with him often and he is so friendly to everyone he sees. Not one bit of nastiness (not sure of the spelling of that ) in him. So unfortunate what happened. But as others have said I am sure many of our four legged friends would of done the same, just instinct. I do hope someone gives him that forever home soon, he really deserves it and will make a wonderful companion to a very lucky person.

Dave is such a softy , this evening Mia and Daisy were playing in the kitchen with Dave as usual laying across the floor dozing when Daisy jumped from a great height on top of his tummy , the poor boy just got up, moved about a foot and laid down again with a big sigh! It must have been a bit of a shock at the very least , but he didn't even make a noise. I loves him to bits.

What an awful experience for Dave's adopters and I really feel for them as they must be devastated. Well done Christina on taking Dave back into your fold. I love the look on his face in the photo with the pups!! He is adorable.

I have just put this picture on Tilliy's thread but thought I would put it on Dave's too. It shows him relaxing with the other dogs, being his usual loving self and blooming good to cuddle up against!

We're very much looking forward to having Dave with us on Wednesday. :-) Dave is such a lovely dog. We walk with him often and all he wants to do is run and play (with Mia and Eva alongside him like two lovestruck teenagers ;D) I am sure you will love him as much as we do. x
