Yes! They didn't mind their pots and plants being peed on one little bit! Not by handsome Oscar anyway! ;D ;D ;D (The cunning plan to take him along and let them fall in love with him obviously worked a treat despite his behaviour!!!) So ..... I've just been for a lovely walk with Oscar's new mum and very beautiful new Saluki X sister! Yes I will be gutted to say goodbye to this gorgeous boy, but am thrilled that he is only a couple of miles down the road, and we share the same dog walking areas! I'm amazed I haven't bumped in to them before. I have promised Lesley not to stalk her!!! Seriously it is a fabulous family home for him and he will be loved to bits. I am dropping him off Friday tea time and have warned them that I will probably be a bit tearful and not to be embarrassed!! I'm going to try to remember to take the camera so you can all see how beautiful Laylah is - forgot it tonight! He will also have a handsome Staffy brother called Rolo. He will also have a fabulously huge garden for lots of lurcher games! Oscar didn't put a paw wrong on the walk and impressed Lesley with his off lead skills. I've said that when he has settled in with them, that we should meet up for a few walks. She's hoping that my pack are a good influence on Laylah's recall .... I'm hoping that their bad habits don't rub off on her!! (Only kidding!) He has been waiting for a forever home for so long - it always amazes me that the right one comes along for them every time just when you have almost given up hope. I am overwhelmingly sad, but also feel very, very happy for Oscar.

That's the most wonderful news for gorgeous Oscar - his turn to have a forever home at last. I bet you'll miss him like crazy but it's lovely that he'll be near and you'll be able to see him living a happy life. You and his foster brothers and sister will always have a special place in his heart. Big, big for the lovely boy and a hug for you. x

;D Fantastic news for Oscar. It is so tough letting them go Sara, but it will be wonderful for you to see him happy and loved with his new family and know that you were the biggest part of getting him there.

Well, Oscar is with his new family as I post this. He made it very easy for me, bless him, because instead of having to carry him over the threshold like I did at the home check, he pulled me up the drive, and ran in to the house and jumped up and gave Lesley (his new mum) a lovely cuddle. Then he ran out in the garden with Laylah as if they had always been friends. Here's a picture of him with his new mum, and his new brother and sister. Doesn't he make a perfect pair with Laylah? Poor Max is distraught. He is lying next to me squeaking, and he keeps running to the window to look for Oscar. It makes me so sad when our hounds get attached to the fosters and they have to move on. Be happy gorgeous boy. You've left a big void here in our house, but we know it is the perfect home for you. And yes - I'm going to give Lesley a ring in a month, when he has had a chance to settle in, and we are going to meet up for a walk. So thrilled that I will be able to see him again.

So good to see him happy in a new home. I've had a soft spot for Oscar since I started looking for a lurcher. We thought about him for us but he looked a bit too much like a dog we'd had before and couldn't bring ourselves to see him.
Enjoy your new home Oscar. You deserve it and it looks like the wait was worth it to join such a lovely family.
