I can't believe he is still with us Sara. He is just so adorable. The day I went to get him he cuddled in. And this lad had been in holding kennels for some time, but his personality has remained so loving.

We took Oscar and our gang along to the Greyhound Walk at Gt Notley Country Park today. He wore his "I Need A Home" vest and this got him a lot of attention which he lapped up, and interest from a few people. I gave out several cards with SLR website details, so fingers crossed this gets followed up. Here are a few photos. He was really good, and although he pulled a little bit on lead this is easily corrected - we rarely walk them on lead, and so he wanted to be off and running about. He was friendly with every dog he met, and every child and adult also. This dog is such a friendly little lad and very much everyone's best friend. Saying hello to one of the greyhounds .... Waiting to set off ...... with his foster brothers and sister ...... And after the walk enjoying some doggy treats and scavenging for crumbs from our lemon drizzle cake at the cafe!! He's sooooo handsome. Don't know what I'm going to do when he finds his new home.

Quick update on Mr Handsome. He's fine to have his nails clipped. I did them when he was flopped out next to me on the sofa last night, and he didn't bat an eyelid as I did all 4 paws. His recall is much better now, even when there are other dogs around to distract him. He recalls to his name about 90% of the time, even with other dogs in the distance. And 100% when there are no distractions. He's also learnt to wait before jumping out of the car. When he first arrived here we had to clip him on to a lead tied in to the back of the car, as he would try to leap out as soon as the hatchback opened. Which isn't great if you are parked on a road. Now he waits until he is told before jumping out - which makes life so much easier! ;D

Couldn't resist a sneaky peek before I go back to my sick bed . Such a sweetie , surely there is some interest in him by now?

Unfortunately no real interest Andre'. It's such a shame. I don't know what more to say about this boy - he continues to be a perfect house guest and is just a joy to have around. I love his cuddles and happy nature. It's going to be so, so hard to let him go, but go he must! I'm concerned for him, as I'm certain he thinks this is home now - he's been with us since December last year!

The photos are fabulous, and clearly so is Oscar. Fingers and claws crossed for a quick homefind.

I've just logged on to update Oscar's thread, but really am at a bit of a loss what more to say. He's still waiting. He's still perfect. He would suit a home without cats, but he has proved on a recent homecheck visit with me that he is chicken friendly! He loves children and adults alike, and absolutely loves other dogs. He is playful, but doesn't like it if the other dog is a bit OTT - when Max gets rough playing with him in the garden he runs in the house as if to say he's had enough! (To be fair Max was in a manic mood this evening and was trying to get Oscar's whole head in his mouth at once!!) I'm certain Oscar thinks he has already found his forever sofa. I worry about how much he has bonded with us, and with our hounds, and it breaks my heart to think that this might unsettle him when he goes to his new family. I hope they can see past him perhaps being a bit withdrawn and unsure.

Oscar's had some fun this afternoon helping my friend and I walk a cross country course for tomorrow! Was that a rabbit over there?? Hmmm - not sure I want to test out the water though! Wheeee! Look at me jump!! He's such a good boy, and had fun in the Suffolk countryside.
