Hi Sally
Lovely update. Might you consider treating Suki homeopathically for grief and fear? Ignatia 200c (just one tablet, given once) and Aconite 6c given one hour before going out and possibly again half an hour before going out might help her. I think many of our rescue dogs could do with being treated with Ignatia once they've been rehomed.
If you're interested I think I've got both these remedies and could bring them to the June 20 walk, Lark willing.
All the best
Val X

She really is beautiful and it was a pleasure to meet her again today. It is incredibly difficult to believe that she is the same dog as the one at the beginning of this thread. Jo

Hi Jennie. It was lovely to meet you on Sunday, it was like a circle being completed meeting the kind lady that picked Suki up, bless you . She certainly does have a magical quality about her. Lovely photo and thank you for posting it. I got a few of them together too. This little girl was certainly drawn to Suki. I wasn't sure if we were losing our dog or gaining a child! I cant believe we've had her only two weeks, it feels so much longer but in every good way . Suki is far more interested in going for walkies now, in fact just say that word and she comes running! Instead of lagging at the back she now trots alongside which ever hound she's paired with and stops and sniffs and looks a whole lot more interested . Here's what Suki has to say ... rosieandabi.blogspot.com/2010/05/introducing-me-my-name-is-suki.htmlHello everyone - my name is Suki.
I have found my forever home with Rosie, Abi, Jack, hapless TJ and the lovely, lovely SJ.
I am a small white lurcher. I am about 3 years old. TJ will post a pic soon.
I was rescued from a shed by the fine people at Southern Lurcher Rescue. I'd rather not talk about my past if you don't mind. Suffice to say that my life to date has been a bit of a struggle.
A lovely lady called Jenny rescued me from the shed. I wasn't feeling very well. Sheds are cold and damp. I love Jenny.
Then a lovely man called Jim came and collected me and took me too his beautiful home. That's were I met the wonderful Gilly. Jim and Gilly have 6 dogs of their own. They all made me feel so welcome because they know what it's like to be a rescue dog. They are so happy. Daisy and Roxy are JRT's and they are so friendly. Bodhi is a lurcher and he is bonkers - he made me smile for the first time in months. Ollie (the twist) gave me the nod of approval. Darcy is a retired racing greyhound and tells a tale or too - what a hard life. And then there is Sammy.....
A nicer dog you could not wish to meet. Sammy's face says it all, he loves everything and everyone around him. He adores Gilly and Jim. Sammy looked me in the eyes and said that I was safe now. I felt so much better. Better than I have ever felt.
A few days later SJ and TJ came to see me with Rosie, Abi and Jack. Sammy said that I would love living with them and that I needn't worry as I could see Gilly and Jim whenever I want.
So I went home with SJ, TJ, Rosie, Abi and Jack.
I am so happy. Thankyou Jenny. Thankyou Gilly and Jim.
Suki. X Posted by The Dogs Blog at 19:48We all had a fab day with the Stokers and Tyler-Mounts yesterday getting Suki well acquainted with her extended pack. Once this little girl finds a comfy spot she just stays put, has a snooze and watches what's going on. I dont think I've ever seen a more chilled out pooch . She had a go off the lead but just mooched about before having a little play session with Sammy and then planting her bottom firmly on the ground when Sir Humpalot aka Reggie took a shine to her She's looking a bit different now from the tired and confused pooch standing in Gilly's bath just a fortnight ago Old Man Sam has an eye for the ladies

I'm a few days late posting this but Suki has been here a month as of the 16th ;D and we really wouldn't be without her . Some of you guys will know how well she is doing from other threads on here and our walks but for those that don't, here's an update. We've had many offers from people to take this girl off our hands (including my young nephew) but no way Jose!!!!!! Children are drawn to her like a magnet. There's one little girl we see most days and her Mum told us she looks out for Suki whenever they're out walking and she's sad if our paths don't cross Think we should've called her Shadow as that's what she is ... follows me everywhere but no signs at all of any seperation anxiety when we're apart thankfully. She doesn't like to walk in front of me, comes when I call her (but hardly ever when Tim does!), watches me move around the room and if I meander around the garden she follows my every step! She is very submissive and no sooner do you look at her than she rolls over. Bit tricky when it comes to using my new fab Furminator. Bless her, her loyalty was evident last weekend when on our Greyhounds In Need walk Jack did a bunk with Harry chasing after a deer and as I ran back and forth yelling for him and trying to see where they'd vanished, little Suki already shattered after 4 miles off the lead did her best to keep up with me ... back n forth back n forth . Almost had to carry her by the end. Don't think this little lass has had much excercise but she has a real spring in her step on our walks now . Oh and Jack and Harry re-emerged eventually, Harry minus his posh collar but no signs of them having savoured any venison. She's really in to food now in fact anything goes and frequently does from the worktop . Nothing has been devoured that shouldn't have been but loaves of bread and rolls somehow tumble to the floor when she's near .... She'd happily eat rawhide chews all day long and waits patiently when breakfast and dinner is being prepared for them. And she's worked out how to lift the lid on the recycling bin too as evidenced by the trail of rubbish across the floor . Oh and she luvs nothing more than snaffling piles of horse poo, even carrying a lump of it!!! If she thinks there's any chance of getting a treat, she sits straight down and gives her prettiest look with her ears forward like butter wouldn't melt . Its lovely being able to let her off the lead but she is getting more adventurous with each walk. Hmm is that deer I smell on the air ... She's progressed from plodding alongside to being 10 feet or so away to ducking under the enclosure fence and vanishing! One blow on the whistle and she is straight back though, such a good girl. Given her interest in a deer that walked towards us the other day (thank doG they were all on leads but what spaghetti leads and long arms I had after that!!) I'm sure she'd give chase. Luv watching this girl scamper around the garden especially with Jack. Its like they're playing hide n seek . She's so graceful and mighty quick. Jack even jumped over her when they were playing the other day! All four charge up the garden together now too if there's something to be investigated and she'll occasionally bark out there . Apart from sofa snuggles ... ... Suki has a new favourite snoozing place .... Tim's birthday present ... the garden swing seat ... Sometimes a stony patio will do though ... Pretty please can we have some liver cake?? And finally, the gangs all here

Aww Jane bless you ... you've put a big smile on my face too, thank you. The liver cake recipe is from the A La Bark Baking book and its a must for every book case. There's a thread on here some where about it, maybe under 'fundraising'. I think Jenny/mimsmum had some copies for sale. 250g liver 250g self raising flour or plain flour 2 eggs milk oven 180c or gas mark 4 Puree liver and eggs in a blender. Put flour in a bowl and stir in liver mixture, add a little milk to make spongy texture. Pour in to baking tray lined with foil and bake for 50-60 mins. Turn out when cold and cut in to cubes. It pongs a bit so keep the kitchen well ventilated. Its so simples
