Annie was picked up today by our lovely volunteer Jennie and then transported to Jim, Gilly's husband to be taken straight to the vets. She was a stray who was taken in by a family who realized that they were not able to keep her and so phoned us to take her on. Annie is only around 23" at the shoulder, very subdued, in season at the moment and being monitored at Gilly's vets. I am sure Gilly will be along in a moment to put some more info up. Thank you to everyone who contacted me today to help with this one.

Annie got on really well at the vets this afternoon, at the moment she has no signs of infections, but, we are going to monitor her over the next couple of days. Annie is about 23" TTS, 18kg in weight, and we think a Saluki x Lurcher and approx 3 to 4 years old. She was quite nervous to meet my lot (six dogs), not sure on what is going on and if she is staying. But a few hours later she started to run around the garden, playing with all of them Annie is getting on with all my dogs and doesn't seem worried by the little ones. She has had a little meal tonight of rice and meat. She ate her dinner with the others and there was no problems. Annie is currently being Little Miss Goldilocks and trying all the beds, don't think she has ever had such a choice Annie's plans for tomorrow are going to start with a light breakfast and then a bath Here are a couple of piccies, isn't she stunning

Wow, what a little beauty. Glad she is safe with you. I think she'd go well with my little collie x whippet boy, Jax, who was one year old yesterday. Will show hubby these pics on his return tomorrow. He may say yes, you never know............

As a Newbie, the more I read of this message board, the more amazed I am that there are such wonderful people around. I sniffle at the sad doggie stories, such as sweet Annie, then I sniffle at the wonderful way in which people rally round and deal with everything! I can't wait until I can be a lurcher's Mum and hopefully do less sniffling and more rallying round!

I can't wait until I can be a lurcher's Mum and hopefully do less sniffling and more rallying round! Hi Jane, This is all due to the dedicated work of a wonderful team of rescue angels whose only aim is to help lurchers in need who have had far more than their fair share of abuse to endure. Even though, it never ceases to amaze me how forgiving and trusting these wonderful hounds still are after they have been nurtured lovingly by their caring foster parents who help them to heal and forget what lies behind them and to show them that not all humans are bad. As you are now witnessing the rescue of a lurcher in need, you will also be following Annie's progress as she is unter SLR's wing and, finally, you will be experiencing the wonderful moment when Annie is going into her forever home............. This is what SLR is all about and makes it so so worthwhile. Hope it won't be too long until you are a lurcher mum yourself but we can't promise you will do less sniffing. Viviane. X
