Gentle Ben had yet another vet trip today. His tail is healing beautifully and has to go once more, hopefully for the last time on Friday for a final check and any remaining stitches out. He is a little itchy at the moment due to his change in circumstance and food etc and is quite scurfy and dry, so Piriton for 2 weeks and then an oatmeal shampoo bath to calm his itch while his skin flakes and adjusts to good food. His urine infection is hopefully calming too and will know the results of the latest test tomorrow. He is such a little star. Everybody who meets him, loves him so much. We went to the village shop today to say a quick "Hello" and let everybody meet him. It took half an hour to get back out. He greeted his public beautifully and, of course, a little bandage on the end of the tail secured the sympathy vote.
We managed to achieve both boys laying on the sofa together today too. So, that is a milestone. Ben didn't really care whether Frankie was there or not, but Frankie just endured it, but still an achievement. Frankie is doing all his best moves in the garden trying to get Ben to play, but no luck yet. I am sure he will in time. Although we all came face to face with deer on our walk this morning, and thanks to Sal lending me 2 head collars, I wasn't face down in the mud being dragged round the forest after them!!! To be fair, once I had turned Ben around and started to walk the other way, he was totally calm, out of sight, out of mind attitude. It was Frankie who had the tantrum, no surprise there!!
So, hopefully after Friday Ben will have had his full service and MOT and can start living a lovely life.

Lovely update. When Rowlf was ill last year his skin was dreadfully flaky. We started giving him salmon oil which quickly cleared it up and he got his shine back. He still has it daily.

Another Ben update
Gentle Ben finally got the breakfast he has been craving today. As I picked up my plate of toast with jam, one slice flew off and landed right in front of him. One happy hound. Fortunately Frankie was in the other room so I didn't have to give up my other slice, already having donated some to the parrot. Last evening I was cooking and Ben was laying beautifully on his kitchen bed when I left the room. I scanned the kitchen confident I had left nothing of interest. 5 minutes later I returned to find Ben laying quietly and diligently dismantling my oven gloves. He was so disappointed when I retrieved them only to put them in the bin. So oven gloves for Christmas please Phil x. Sadly for us but luckily for Ben a lovely lady is coming on Sunday 26th to meet Gentle Ben with a view to adopting. I am sure they will be very happy together, but goodness we will miss him xx

Ben looks and sounds lovely. I know Ben's visitor and she has already ordered a large bed fit for a Lurcher although I suspect he might chance the sofa. Ziggy and Patch, our two, stole her heart - as well as her sausage rolls- so she really wants a Lurcher. 💕💕 good luck Ben!!

Here's hoping that Ben's visitor has no room on the sofa and no sausage rolls in the very near future!

Awww I love this boy. I had more amazing Ben snuggles and snogs this morning He is just adorable. A full on face wash and spectacle clean was in order apparently, bless him. He can reach your shoulders with his paws for a standing up cuddle too, not that I'm tall though Lorraine and Phil you have worked wonders with this boy, getting him healthy and ready for his new life. All credit to you for being so amazing with him, and he's extra special being your first foster. We couldn't let our first one go. Ben is going to be a heart breaker when he goes xx xx
