Hi Lucie, I have replied to your email. Unfortunately for you there are two other interested parties ahead of you.

It's certainly worth getting homechecked anyway Lucie (if you haven't already that is) as dogs like Monty come in and go out very quickly, and at least if you have been homechecked you are ready and waiting.

Well, Monty has been here since Friday afternoon and he's such an easy house guest. All the greyhounds get on with him and he them. He would be best with another playful dog as he's had such fun playing with other dogs in the boarding kennel. Monty has to put up with humans as play pals because our greyhounds aren't always into energetic play and he makes us laugh with the most amazing play growls. His tone changes so much and reminds us of the Deerhound lurcher we had and the way he pounces on the squeaky toys.
Monty can do stairs but is very obedient when told to go back down. I think he finds it too warm in the house after being in kennels since late February and even then he laid on the floor instead of in his bed. A couple of times he's popped up for a snuggle on the sofa which is leather with a cotton throw over it but only manages about 15 minutes before panting.
No problems with overnight as Monty sleeps through, eats well, loves treats, knows sit, seems ok in the car, content indoors and is a clever dog. He lets you look in his mouth, ears,is happy to be groomed and give you his toy.

Such a shame for the lad as he was with his owner since a pup so must really miss her. I would love to keep him but we really can't have five and have problems with holidays as it is and have one coming up soon. Monty is exactly what I dreamed of having about 6 months after Smokey was taken from us but, such is life. He came and lay by the bed last night and I didn't have the heart to say "down stairs".
Adorable boy.

Monty says thank you for all your kind thoughts and he was well looked after by some lovely nurses and the "great Daniel Doherty" who is a sight hound specialist. Monty has been fine so far and doesn't appear to have any bruising, slept well(now by the beds as felt sorry for him) and has had a couple of light meals. A real star.
He is so lovely and I hope a home comes along soon for him. As far as we know he lived with his owner as an only dog so could do again but he does seem to like to do the mouthing games so a companion would have to take part as well. Our greyhounds don't participate.
More to report later.
