You sound so much like us .... our foster Maisie has been here 2 months and is very much a part of us ... my fear is that the longer she is here, the harder it will be for her to settle somewhere else. I just hope that because she adjusted to here so well, she will in a new home too and not miss us . We would keep her but 5 dogs is just too many for me all the time. The way she looks at me is not going to make the parting any easier either ... wish my own dogs were as obedient as she is too! Good luck to you and Saffie, she is beautiful and I'm sure her special home isn't far away

Quite a few of our fosters have been with us for the 1-2 month mark, and then we had Chas/Cai who for the second time was here for FIVE months, such a long time and he was such a part of the furniture by then. I remember being so worried about him leaving, not for myself but for him, whether he would settle, whether his behaviour would deteriorate with the move e.t.c e.t.c especially as he had some SA and other issues. Despite all the worry when he went he coped very well and is happy as larry now. I do think these dogs are very adaptable and the majority settle down well when they move on, particularly when they are younger and everything is a new adventure. I hope Saffie is snapped up soon and hugs to you all as we know it's tough with the long-stayers.

It's the same for all of us Elaine. I had Jessie for over 4 months, broke my heart, Ronnie for 5 months, even more difficult, puppy Riley for nearly 4 months and Sam for nearly 3 months. Little Honey here will be with us for a good 3/4 months and I will sob and be heartbroken all over again. One day, someone will look at the website, and Saffie will just call out to them and they will know she is the one, and you will know that they are the one.

Wow that gives me an idea - we could have a photo competition dog with biggest - funniest, smallest ears etc etc.
Seriously though, she is a lovely little girl, her time will come.

I still can't get over the difference in her, from when I picked her up from the dog warden. She is absolutely gorgeous, her forever family is out there somewhere

Little Saffie is doing very, very well. She is extremely playful and still very puppyish. Anything with a trace of food on it will be explored and eaten. Fortunately she is not very big so can't reach the worktops, but she get's her big foster bruv Billy to reach up and then helps him to eat it before I have even noticed it has gone.
Bruce asked me this morning where the bread was - hmmm well take your pick - but first choice has to be Billy with the help of Saffie.
She is naughty and very playful, but most of the time it makes me laugh, except when she chewed my brand new Monsoon handbog up this week, I only had it 5 days, but my fault should not leave remanants of dog treats in new handbag and leave in kitchen overnight.
Apart from the chewing virtually anything up, which I know she will grow out of in a couple of months, she truly is the most inoffensive, loving, non aggresive young hound I have ever known. Loves to snuggle up with humans but also loves to play quite hard with willing hounds.
I don't understand why no one has shown any interest in her - I think she is beautiful - but then beauty is in the eye of the behholder.

Saffie is a very beautiful little girl. I have been very tempted by a few of the lurchers on here recently! But don't feel the time is right yet. Hope someone spots her soon :-) She sounds just perfect to me :-)

Saffie and I have had a lovely weekend With visits from Black Jack and two other large greyhounds who stayed overnight. Everyone got one really well, and Saffiel just fitted in with the other 7 dogs.
She is so easy going, I am really going to miss her when she goes, she is always there for me, with a smile and a cuddle.
