Holly just keeps getting better and better We've been over to Gilly & Jim's this afternoon and she's been as good as gold and won I few hearts I do believe Jim very kindly gave her a much needed bath in the DADW van and now she smells & looks beautiful xxx Not overly keen on the bath - but behaved impeccably She's now a gorgeous rich ginger colour And just look at the marking on that tail and sexy butt We've been home an hour or so and she's eaten her dinner and is now stretched full length on the sofa snoring away gently xx

Bodhi came to us a year ago today and he thought it was another little gift for him when the gourgeous Holly came to say hello! She will make a fantastic family member, she mixed in with the whole pack of 14 really well, playing tug of war with lenny (well Lenny and Freddie on one end and Holly on the other ) wasn't fazed at all by being chased and playing with noisy JRT's! It was a pleasure to bath her and although not fully impressed with the experience didn't complain and enjoyed the fuss especially the towel drying as she was less happy about the dryer! After all the fun and games she found herself a gap on the floor ( curls up in a space smaller than you would expect ) and settled to a gentle snooze whilst we ate, a perfect house guest

Maybe a whippy X could be crowbarred in! Ooohhh now I always fancied a little whippy cross Another nice peaceful evening with the gorgeous Holly She's slowly starting to realise that she doesn't have to get up everytime someone moves as they will come back I definitely think Holly would benefit being with another dog as she does love being around them. She tries to play non stop with mine and normally there is one that will happily oblidge.... Reggie seems to love playing with her, I think because he's so small compared to her that he can give her the slip so easily by dodging underneath her She plays just like a puppy would - paws all over the place and no coordination! So, she'd probably benefit from another dog that is happy with that and willing to join in her games. There is no aggression in her at all so playing with toys isn't a problem as she doesn't guard them or care if another steals them from under her nose (Dexter!!) She is great with food too - no begging or stealing. She lies down patiently while I make their dinner and then goes to where he bowl is going to be and waits for me to put it down. She does eat really slowly though and is always last to finish - all the others have finished their own meal and gone round and checked that no one else has left anything and she's still stood there eating!! I've started to change her food to what the others are eating now and she seems to be taking to that well. Today was the first day back to our routine with me at work & Mark working in the workshop and he says she's settling just fine with him not being in the house all the time. She's been down to the workshop a couple of times and stood with her front paws up on the gate to see what he's doing but has them happily taken herself off back indoors. Apparently her and Shylo had a full on play session earlier that was so chaotic all the others took themselves off upstairs to get out of the way... lol.!!

This is Molly, a Deerhound Lurcher I took in in early November when she just came out of heat. She had been offered as breeding bitch on DoneDeal and a friend of mine persuaded the seller to surrender her to me. I am a wee bit shocked to find her here as I had had her booked via Ann (Dundalk Pound Rescue) to go to Dogs Trust. EGAR is primarily a Bull Breed Rescue and Ann had two Staffies in the Pound which I could only take if Molly was placed (she had only been with me for a few days), so we swapped the dogs with the understanding that Molly would go to DT. Molly is 19 months old and is not an F1 Lurcher, her mother was a Deerhound x GH and her father a GH. www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=245917&id=169411475888

Thank dog she didn't go into a mixed rescue then. Holly has been lucky enough to come into what we consider to be the best fostering rescue in England. Such a shame about her sad start, but what a lucky girl to have gone into the hands of C.A.L.L. who contacted us. Don't worry Egar, she will land on her feet and on the sofas of wherever she wants.

Well done for getting her out and at least you can pop on here and see how she is when she's happily rehomed. She looks so much better than the pics of her when she was first rescued

Holly is currently enjoying a little snuggle time with Reggie excellent Karla - from the day she came to us in the middle of November, she never put a (BIG) paw out of line. Wonderful with all dogs and non plussed by our few hens .. . Also such a good girl after her spay op. not a bother with her - she took everything in her (BIG) stride and I'm sure she won't be in foster with you too long - such a honey of a dog. I really love working with you guys in SLR - the feedback and all the photos of the dogs from fosterhome to forever home. Very few rescues give back such constant feedback and for those of us who are at the forefront when caring for the dogs really appreciate it.. Many thanks Karla. Give her a big hug from me

Many thanks Karla. Give her a big hug from me Big hugs administered This gorgeous great lump needs to come with a health warning!! "Unaware of size & strength - please take great care" She is such a powerful girl any potential adopted really need to have a bit of muscle behind them to handle her... she's had me over twice now out on walks..... admittedly I am a bit of a clutz and don't always look where I'm going and have a tendancy to trip over imaginary objects.... but, even so if she wants to take off she takes off no matter who is attached to the other end of her Out walking on her own she's as good as gold and walks calmly enough if just a bit eager to get where she's going. When she's with another dog though or sees a strange dog in the distance she is desperate to play and say hi so prances about in her frustration of not being off lead... She's been a little deaf when it comes to answering to her name so recall is not coming along as well as it should. Last night we went out armed with tasty treats and balls and gave her a little off lead time over the park. She came back about 70% of the time and although she didn't really go anywhere the other 30% she does like to ignore you and gaze off into the distance! Still it's early days and I'm sure with practice she'll be fine She's calming down a lot more in the house now and doesn't feel the urge to follow us absolutely everywhere anymore. She is definintely a 31kg puppy who thinks she's the size of a jack russell!! she prances about like she's as light as a feather and if she gets excited to see you she jumps up and pops her paws on your shoulder and gives you a great big .... That's lovely if you're sturdy enough on your feet but if she catches you off guard it ain't much fun being plonked on your butt with a Holly on top of you She is however the most loving dog I've ever met She loves having a fuss and is happiest snuggled up with you or lying on her back having her tummy tickled xx
