I took Holly in a few weeks ago - she had been rescued off a website selling dogs and she was up for "breeding" and no doubt would have ended up as a constant breeding machine for years. Holly is absolutely wonderful. She is approximately 2-2.5 years old and without doubt must have had a litter every season. She was very underweight when she came to me but what an absolute darling girl. Holly is very good with other dogs - she has met my lurcher Bracken & my GSD Tarry and has had fun & games with both dogs. She absolutely loves people - and is a quiet, gentle dog - happy to walk along side me in the garden and loves to play with rope toys. I can't test her with cats as I don't have any. She walks like a dream on the lead and is wonderful in the car. She is very good in the housetraining dept. She is such a "clown" - she would sit on your knee if she could fit her long legs on there properly, I often get into her bed & she will climb in, roll over on her back with all 4 legs in the air...lol.... Gentle, lovable and highly intelligent girl. She is now neutered, vaccinated, wormed, microchipped and everyone at my vets fell madly in love with her. I wish I could keep her, but 2 GSDs &2 lurchers I really couldn't keep her as well...and my beautiful Orla (lurcher) is VERY jealous of Holly so ........it would be a recipe for disaster. She is fast, very fast ....and she can jump over 4-5 ft from a standing position. I have a photo of her with Bracken and will send it to Jenny so she can put it up...she is slightly taller than Bracken, but he was faster than her so I expect she was kept to breed. Well those days are well behind her now Simply an adorable, tall, beautiful and gentle Deerhound x. She loves her comfort & her food. She is now fully recovered from her neutering op. She would be ideal as either an only pet, or in a home with another dog - probably better a male dog as it keeps the gender balance. Holly will be ready to travel from the 6th December onwards.

We'd really like to get Holly in soon after the 6th December, before the Christmas throw-outs come in.
Anyone up for fostering this lovely girlie?

Holly was out walking this morning and I walked her past my hens - who are in a run - she never even looked at them . For all I know, she "may" be ok with cats - this girlie was used for breeding, by her behaviour I don't think she was out "lamping" though you can never be sure. She really loves to amble alongside you - when she cleared the 5ft it was an internal area of dog enclosure fence and she really just wanted to see what was in there She seriously loves men...........hussey ...

She's prob a bit big for my place longterm, but I'll take her in if nowhere better turns up! At least she'd be here... and warm and safe. She is very gorgeous.
It would help to know if she'd met a cat, although I haven't seen the neighbours' cats for weeks now! they have litter boxes indoors at this time of years, the wusses. Btw I'm still waiting for a formal letter from the Estate, I'd better give them a prod

How do you think she'd fair with my hooligans Jenny?
We don't have cats or any other small furries so not bothered about how she is with them but she'll have to gel with 4 boys (2 young'uns) & a girlie greyhound if she was to come here...
If you think she'd be happy enough here then I'll talk to Mark and see if he's happy to foster her ;D

I've had internet problems due to dreadful weather....so only back online properly tonight. Holly was out playing with the dogs today...and she really loved the snow which is so deep up where we are that we've been stuck since last Saturday.... She loves her run around and then likes to lounge around for a few hours , play with her toys, eat...sleep.... She's starting to put on real weight and is fully recovered from her spay operation. Unfortunately, there are no cats where we are....quite isolated. I'll take some more pics tomorrow of her with my 4 dogs - Assuming the weather improves, she is ready & fit to travel next week ( transport would be going on 9th, arriving on 10th) Karla - my 2 females are not good with other females, but Holly is quite submissive - so I'll remove my boys tomorrow ( GSD & Lurcher & she loves them) and oversee "girl time" with my female dogs - I know they will be dreadful with her, but she has been submissive with them but as she may go to your home I need to be 100% that she is fine with females. While she was recovering from her spay op. I kept her separate so that her wound had a chance to heal without any playing/running around. Now she's ready for action ... ;D
