Very sadly Alfie's owner had to move suddenly and was not allowed to keep him at her new home. She agonised over what to do for the best as she had had him from a tiny pup. She tried to leave him at the Stables where she worked, but knew that this was not ideal. When she rang me she was at her wits end. We didn't want to leave little Alfie alone again for another night so last night he was moved to his foster home in Sussex. He is the loveliest of little chaps. Very happy and dog and cat and child friendly. An ideal little man of 15 months. Alfie will be staying with his foster in Sussex. Will be assessed, but has no baggage, just all love. Please do not apply for Alfie if you work as he is only a baby and needs someone around most of the time. He is absolutely gorgeous. ............................................................................................. We had a really good nights sleep! ;D Alfie made a little noise for a few minutes but not long then settled in his crate and didn't disturb me, till 7 when I got up. He was clean as well so a really good boy . He is a real leaner and loves to play ball too. Going for a walk soon but here are a couple of pictures to keep you all going. He will look even better when he has a bath but will let him settle first.

Would like to be considered please - home all day, need a smaller dog as my garden isn't very big, and one already house-trained and cat-friendly. He ticks all my boxes!

After our fun day today at Ikea and Alfie going for a few hours to my neighbour Sophie's house to play with Tumble where he was an absolute star, I can honestly say he is a pleasure to have around. His worst fault is being under your feet because he wants to be close to you. He is house trained, gentle loving and friendly with men, women, children, dogs and cats and as he was running around a stables before he must be fine with horses too . His previous owner deserves a lot of credit and has obviously loved him and brought him up to be a wonderful dog . He eats well now but not in a greedy way at all but he does try to get you give him anything you are eating. No chance here but those eyes just make you feel guilty all the same . Mia has taken a real shine to him now and they are currently cuddled up together by my feet but Photobucket is off line so I will post pictures tomorrow morning. He will be going to the vets on Tuesday to have a couple of bouncy things removed, that should stop the flirting between him and Mia!

Now that can upload picture of Alfie here are a few of him with us from yesterday. He is really beginning to settle in now and relax. When the doorbell rang on the television he ran to the front door to let them in earlier. He also is very good at chasing his tail. Waiting for a treat. The difference is size showing how small he is What r u doing on the dogs sofa? Playing with Mia Asleep at last exhausted!

No sweat Jenny. I'm happy to wait for one which isn't so keen on kids and doesn't mind a quiet life, or whatever! He looks very happy, and clearly has lots to take his mind off his poor former lady owner.

Alfie went off lead for part of our walk yesterday and came back beautifully. We met a large greyhound called Flea, (an ex racer who thought Poppy was fair game to chase but soon realised she isn't such easy game! ) and two lurcher friends, Jerry and Ffion, he can run like the wind, and really had a blast. It was so lovely to see him having fun running full pelt around the field and playing with other dogs we met. Later on Mia and Alfie played bitey face for ages, he is so non-dominant all mine have accepted him easily . Not long before his op so please send him lots of love and quick recovery wishes.

I am so happy that he has settled in well and is is happy, He really is brilliant with everything and everyone, I am so upset that I had to let him go but I think it was the right decision for Alfie. I hope little mans op goes ok for him and whoever decides to take on this lovely little boy is a very lucky person and will hav a very loyal friend. Lots of love and kisses to Alfie x x

Dropped Alfie off at the Vets, hoping all goes ahead as one of the nurses had to go home sick, so if no-one can cover he will be back home having to through it all another day . Alfie is a very loving gentle dog Devon you can be very proud of him. He does like to look at you with those pleading eyes when you are eating human food as if he hasn't eaten in months. A true lurcher then! Yesterday I left a packet of Ryvita too near the edge in the kitchen, they all loved them, pity they are such slim dogs already , that also gives me a great excuse to eat more fattening food ;D. Going to take my girls out now so I can fill my day untill he is safely back for Chicken and rice tonight.
