An update below from Emma. She's also trying to send me some photos to put on but they are failing, when I get 'em I will add to this thread. Emma's update: Dylan is getting on very well and has finally put on a bit of weight and is loving being with Archie as Archie is enjoying being with him. Ollie is enjoying the two of them even though I hate to think how many of Ollie’s toys he has destroyed, that dog is bionic! You think it’s safe and high enough but he still manages to get things!
Had one really strange incident with him which I can only think might be to do with his past. We were walking in Felsted and there is a wood that Ollie always wants to go into (looking for witches)! And there are so many rabbits etc. I put them both on the lead and the last thing I wanted was for them to run off and get all caught up in holes and brambles. We started to walk in and Dylan just put the breaks on and tried to get out of his lead really panicked, so we came back out and he was fine again.
A couple of days later we were walking over there again and Ollie, Paul and Archie went into the wood and I stayed on the outside with Dylan and the next thing he dived into the wood to reach everyone else and was absolutely fine and was running around no issues at all. When we went outside I tried to take him in again on the lead and he did the same again, panicked and could not get out of there fast enough. So, loves the wood off the lead, hates it on the lead! We think maybe there is a little memory of something there but guess we will never know!
Doggie Day Care is going well with him and he now also runs up the path and jumps at the door of Anna’s house when I drop them off on a Thursday. Apparently Archie looks like an old man now compared to Dylan who spends the whole day playing while Archie now has long naps on the sofa!
We took Dylan and Archie to the beach last weekend which was I would think was Dylan’s first visit, straight into the sea with Archie and tried catching waves!
Thankfully Archie has learnt recall from Dylan so they both now come back, Archie is still a slight Herbert at times but mostly he can’t let Dylan have a treat without him getting one! Honestly Sue, if you could see them, they run like the wind and just chase and chase each other, quite funny as Archie used to be so much faster than Dylan but Dylan is now catching up and even beats him at times, much to Archie’s disgust! As you can imagine, our evenings are very quite!Sounds like they are all having a ball. Have given Emma a tip about the entering woods on lead issue and she'll be trying that out. Looking forward to getting the photos if my phone signal improves! Sue xx Modifying to add pictures at 2.55pm!!!DYLAN with Ollie who loves him very much DYLAN found the mud!! DYLAN and ARCHIE share the sofa DYLAN and ARCHIE

I'm so pleased he's happy with his lovely new family. No problems with us when we took him to the forest but I have to admit he didn't go diving into the undergrowth like Dusty does - he'd much rather stay on the pathway with us and then dive bomb Dusty when she returned.
Please send our very best wishes to Em, Paul, Ollie, Archie and the gorgeous Dylan X

Another update received from Emma today: Just thought I would give you a quick update and a couple of photo’s while I can email them to you!
We have been having some lovely walks with the boys and Archie’s recall is improving day by day thanks to Dylan! Dylan has now got the hang of chasing sticks, he just use to stare at you and completely miss the stick landing in the field! But now we have them both chasing sticks and then both running around holding the same stick until one let’s go then it’s a race to catch up with each other!
Oh, Dylan has decided landscape gardening would be a good career choice! He has dug up one of Mum and Dad’s borders and has dug a big hole in our lawn so we are thinking of buying a new tree seeing as he has done all the hard work for us! Dylan taking Ollie for a walk!! Did I hear the words treats? It's great to hear all is still going well xxx

Just received a short update from Emma, all is still going great.
I was off on leave last week as Dylan had his “Manly bits” taken away on Friday (28th)! He wagged his tail on the way in and thankfully was also wagging his tail on the way out after the op! We took both Archie and Dylan with us but left Archie in the car and when we came back out Archie was looking for Dylan everywhere and when we drove away from the vets he was crying for Dylan!
Dylan’s op went well and he had no tiredness, soreness or anything, although trying to keep the Herbert’s from play fighting for ten days has been a nightmare!!
I took Dylan back to have his stitches out yesterday and he still was given the all clear to get back to normal so we went straight to the fields for a run and run they did! We heard nothing from either of them all evening and even had to wake them up to go out before bed!

So pleased to hear Dylan's op went well I think vets should give us a supply of 'Doggy Valium' or something because that 10 days is a nightmare ;D ;D ;D Lovely to hear he's helping you with the garden Fran x

So pleased that his op was successful with no ill effects. However I can't imagine trying to keep him still for 10 days. When these updates come in I pass them on to Jan and Rob who were the couple that first found him and took him in before he came to us for fostering

Not just stunning, but such a loving and happy chappie. And clearly loved by his family. And Archie is to die for too.
