Not long now Audrey - its exciting stuff .... do we have a new name for her yet or is Molly staying 3 sleeps!!! ;D ;D ;D Re name, I'm really, really not sure Have been racking my brain and gathering lots of suggestions from people I know but can't decide whether it's as simple as the fact that Molly really IS a 'Molly'. What do you reckon? Here are some of the possibles - please feel free to add new names + let me know what you think. I prefer something a bit unique and meaningful Bramley (village near Guildford - good associations for me + Molly IS the apple of my eye) Darcey (after Darcey Bussell the ballerina) Efa (Welsh for Life) Nooma (means spirit or breath of life - correctly spelt it's Pneuma) Fflur (Welsh for flower) Ynys (pronounced inniss - Welsh for island) As you'll gather I have some Welsh connections but am open to all sorts. All suggestions/thought very welcome! Could do with something light and happy and definitely deliacte and girlie but NOT any name which will cause people to laugh at Molly - being made fun of can be handled by Dilys! Help me out here please peeps Audrey x

I loved finding a perfevct name for Aoife, being Irish, I stuck to her Celtic roots and chose that as it means beautiful and radient. I love Ynys, I also have Welsh connections, and had I have had a little girl, this would have been her name

I sometimes call her Girlie, because I had an Auntie Girlie who was delicate, always tried to dress up well, and had a coat with a whispy fur collar.
I also like Bonnie, because she is, and light and dainty on her feet too.
And my Mollie thought Shadow, because she's pale grey and white and follows me around !
But Molly is pretty good too!

We went to see Uncle Graham this morning. He removed the sticky dressing on her wound and said it looks fine, and from Monday she can run around off lead, but of course Audrey will be keeping her mostly on lead to settle in. He said her muscle tone has greatly improved in the month since she came to us. Her weight today is 24.65 kg, so she can still put on a few kilos to reach what he would estimate an ideal weight, around 27kg. She had her second Vaccination, so she's all set to go to Audrey on Sunday.
Whilst we're looking forward to seeing them together again, and are very happy for their future, we will miss her, and I think Caspar may too, for she has been our most successful foster so far with regards fitting in with Old Grumpy.

So pleased that all went well at the vets and she is ready for Sunday. I love the name Molly, but you will know Audrey within a few days, as to what to call her, whether Molly stays or has a totally new name to go with the wonderful new life she is going to have with you and Dilys

Thank you all again for your really lovely comments My new hot favourite name-wise is Kalli (from Kallos, Greek for beauty - comes of searching the internet at 3.00am!) I think it sounds great and she is indeed a beautiful girl, both inside and out. It feels like an easy name to call out in the woods, rolls off the tongue + isn't too dissimilar to Molly in terms of 2 syllables and the sounds, so may be a bit less confusing for Molly. I am SO excited about bringing Molly home on Sunday, it's quite hard to describe but it is as though Life does indeed have a beauty to it again which simply hasn't been there for me since Willow was PTS. Please don't misunderstand me, my life has been really good in many, many ways over the past year and I have much to be thankful for, but nonetheless something very fundamental has been missing - hmmmm now, would that by any chance be a lurcher?! We went to see Uncle Graham this morning. He removed the sticky dressing on her wound and said it looks fine, and from Monday she can run around off lead, but of course Audrey will be keeping her mostly on lead to settle in. He said her muscle tone has greatly improved in the month since she came to us. It is wonderful to hear that Molly is doing so well post operatively The hugest thanks again to you Keith and Mollie for so willingly carrying the weight of the spay and post op care and for generally taking such wonderful care of Molly over the past 4/5 weeks I am absolutely sure it will not be easy for you to hand Molly over on Sunday and I imagine that Caspar too will indeed miss her presence in the house. Mega hugs to you all. Just 2 more sleeps ;D ;D ;D ....... Audrey x
