Molly has had her operation this morning, and is now back home with us, dozing quietly in one of the dog beds. Graham said she behaved impeccably at the surgery, and the operation went smoothly. He noticed a thin layer of sub-cutaneous fat, so all that food we have been giving her has helped her build up some small reserve! She has her post-op check and second vaccination on Friday morning, and is then all set to move in with Dillys and Audrey on Sunday!
Before she leaves, those of you who can make the GIN walk will be able to wish her well.

Thank you all so much for your kind comments, I am very touched by them I was hugely relieved to hear from Keith earlier that Molly's operation has gone well and that she is now at home sleeping peacefully. I am SO EXCITED!!! Am counting down the days 'til Sunday - only 5 sleeps to go! ;D I imagine that it will be very hard indeed for Keith and Mollie to say goodbye to young Molly, I know they have become incredibly fond of her. They have done SO much to help Molly on her way to her Forever Sofa here with me and Dilys; I do hope it will help a little to know that they will always be welcome to drop in and see Molly and will certainly be seeing Molly on a regular basis at SLR walks + in between times can watch her progress on the forum. The hugest hugs to you both Keith and Mollie Well, at the weekend I very gently broke the news of Molly's arrival in our family to young Dilys. I wasn't sure how she would take it, having been an 'only hound' for so many months now. I need not have worried, she is absolutely over the moon at the prospect of having a Big Sister As we speak she is busy making sure that everything here in the house is ready for Molly's arrival on Sunday, dusting the dog bowls, polishing the dog treats and checking that Molly's bed is tucked away somewhere nice and cosy. Bless her, Dilys is (despite rumour) a very kind and sensitive little soul By the way I was checking for dog names on the Internet earlier this week and discovered that Dilys means TRUE, GENUINE and PERFECT - now just how appropriate is that?! Audrey x

Molly has remained fairly subdued, but we get the occasional tail wag, and she has eaten breakfast and lunch. I didn't take her on the morning walk, although she wanted to come, because she would have expected to be running off-lead, but she has been in the garden whenever she feels like it. She does not seem to be in pain, and has not tried to lick her scar. She just wants to stay quiet - and that's the best thing for healing.

Molly enjoyed an on-lead walk with Caspar this afternoon, and ate a hearty meal afterwards. She has spent a quiet evening, not quite her normal perky self, but not "spaced out" either, just resting! I'm sure she'll be up for the last walk of the evening, after "The Apprentice", but I won't let her chase the foxes!

It sounds as if she is doing fine, Keith. Sending healing vibes your way, Molly, tomorrow will be better! Sleep tight, sweetie! Viviane. X

Molly slept well, but was not keen to walk down the stairs when I was dressed, so I carried her. (Our stairs are smooth wood with only a narrow strip of non-slip tape) She enjoyed being off-lead for the usual morning walk, looking around for the squirrels, but was only walking and trotting, not racing around full pelt as she used to. I think her "internals" may still be a little tender and so she is being cautious. On our return she tucked into breakfast with relish! How different from the boys who hardly seem to notice their operations!

OOPS! Rightho Kate, thanks for the tip...obviously Molly knew that herself. I hadn't had experience of a bitch going under the knife, mostly boys before.
