Poor Blue. His mum died and none of the family could take him. He has spent a couple of weeks before left on his own and with the back door open, just popping up to feed him and let him out. The family phoned us and we thought that we had the perfect home lined up and really did want Blue to go straight into a new home without coming into foster, but the poor new family's dog was taken ill this morning. They have had to put on hold taking on another dog for now. Blue has had a little too much kindness and needs to lose a couple of kilos He has a lovely nature and is now being fostered with Missysmum in Braintree with Missy and Robbie. His tail has already started wagging and Sue is keen to get him into shape. Blue needs neutering, needs re-vaxing and all treatments brought up to date, including his poor nails which are excessively long. But he is a lovely little doglet, a lovely natured little boy, and we are sure will be snapped up very very shortly. Join the queue, because little sweehearts like this don't come up very often.

Blue's pedigree name is : Beetelian Bilbo Baggins!!! - he is a Blue Fawn Brindle with some white markings and was born 18th February 2003. Well folks, this is a lovely natured boy who was received very well by my two. As Jenny has mentioned, he is very overweight, nails need alot of attention and he needs vax, microchip, worming & de-fleaing and two lumps removed! All this will be attended to whilst he is in our care. He's been eating Bakers but I have moved him onto Burns Chicken & Brown Rice straight away. We have been advised he is cat friendly and that he walks well on and off lead, will update on that if we discover differently. I have been given two scanned photos of him as a pup and I will see if I can re-scan them and get them on here somehow! Here are the first photos of Blue: Missy welcomes Blue, you can see how much weight he's carrying in this: Some assorted pictures of him: Some piccy's of his nails: Eating his Burns dinner (a small portion!!!) . . . and this is what was looking at me in the study when I turned round about 15 minutes ago - BLESS

Yep, Esme has worse nails than that. B suggested just filing them every few days to get the quicks down so I am giving that a go. Poor mite, needs to lose around 4 kilos me thinks! But what fantastically white teeth!

He is lovely and my first thoughts are 'what a kind and loving face he has' . Poor boy all that excess weight and his nails! however, he looks like he is going to be an adoring, handsome and loving fella .

he certainely is a chunky boy!!! nails not too bad though Think I should join the Blue diet The nails make him walk pidgeon toed!!!! MIssy has tried to get him to play, he wagged his tail but doesn't know hat to do!(YET!!) He is strong on lead but OK, they used a retractable lead so he did what he wanted I suppose, BUT he does walk OK and is faster than we thought he would be with that weight! He has obviously been fed titbits OFTEN! We had BBQ tonight and he aksed OFTEN - and got no response! OMG - he is to die for, lovely kind eyes and soft face

He is a handsome little porker isn't he. If only we could just shift a bit of his weight over onto Rory. I suppose his nails will have to be done a little bit at a time poor thing. At least they're not black - so hard to see where to cut on black ones. I'm sure under your care he will soon shape up.

Hello all! This is my first message to the forum, and I wanted to thank Sue for fostering Blue, as I was the one supposed to go and get Blue this morning! We were only half an hour from home when our little mini Dachshund who we were taking with us to meet Blue became unwell. We had no choice but to head back for home. She suffers with gall bladder problems, but is incredibly stoical so it's always hard to know when she is really ill. Anyway she has perked up a bit tonight and is having a fuss made of her by my husband, so I took the opportunity to register on here!! I will speak with my vet on Monday and we'll probably get a bile acid stim done just to be sure. Once we have sorted her out we could well be back in the running to adopt Blue, unless he has been snapped up by then, and of course him finding a forever sofa is a priority. He is a real stunner isn't he and once the weight is off he will be a heartbreaker!! Once again I am so sorry for letting people down this morning and disappointed we didn't get to meet him, but it was just one of those things. I will be watching this thread closely to see how things go with him. And thank you Sue for stepping in!

Good luck Blue - he'll make a lovely easy dog for someone. He was born on the same day as whisper, just a year later

What a lovely colour. Let me know what you use to get his weight off and then I will get some as my waist line is similar!!

Blue slept through the night without a murmur. Was pleased to see people this morning and very excited about his walk. His had a long one hour session today and got back quite puffed but kept up with the others the whole time. He's had his (small) breakfast and keeps looking for treats and seems very disappointed when he gets none. Diet has started! Blue had a water infection and has been on anti-biotics for 5 days but still seems unwell in that region to me so when we get his vet appoint he will check that out too. He's a very loving dog, follows you everywhere. He does know his commands but I don't think that they have been followed through so we will see if we can help him along with that! We have managed to trim some of the excess off his nails this morning - more to follow, he doesn't like it being done. My computer is broken so I won't be able to post for couple of days - have popped into local library to do this today. If I get a chance over next couple days I will come in and update. I will text Jenny and keep her informed! Whoever gets this charming man will be very lucky

Sue rang this morning to say that Blue is booked in for a check-up at her vets this evening. Poor mite does have a water infection so we want that sorted as soon as possible. Sue still has no internet at the mo so is relying on scrounging use at a neighbours.

What a gorgeous boy. He looks like a grown up Moth (or 3!) So sorry for Waffle and her wee girl. Hope it all works out for him - he's going to be a stunning little boy once he actually gets little!!
