What a gorgeous boy. He looks like a grown up Moth (or 3!) So sorry for Waffle and her wee girl. Hope it all works out for him - he's going to be a stunning little boy once he actually gets little!! Thanks frazzyb. Holly is much improved - we now think she had eaten something she shouldn't have, rather than the gall bladder and liver problems rearing their ugly heads. Having lost my Whippet x only some weeks ago I think I may have over reacted. Talk about neurotic Mum!!

Have they any ideas what the problem could be? Bless him. We'll keep everything crossed for him tomorrow, and even Holly has her paws crossed!

Sorry to hear you pretty little Holly has given you cause for concern. I know what a lovely little Dachshund she is from when I did your homecheck but no wonder you were worried about her as its only been a matter of weeks since you lost your whippet. Lets hope Blue will turn out to be the dog for you when his heath and his weight problems are on the way to being sorted out.

Computer is fixed!!!!! Monday: Blue slept well overnight, not a sound till I got up. I walked him on own to check what his walk is like. He does like to have his nose in front (just like Missy) but he's not a puller. He saw Bunnies in the local field and was very interested - he would chase if off lead. He will counter surf so all food will need to be left well out of this little fellah's reach. He is not at all destructive in house. He loves playing ball and moves so fast for a chubby chap Monday's Vet Visit: well vet took another sample and confimed what I had said i.e. there is still blood in his urine. Urine infection now ruled out as the tablets he had would have cleared it up. Vet confirmed he is about 4kg overweight and should be about 17kg when he does lose it all. He has a small skin tag on his upper right eye lid, it's not causing him any problem but in future if it does it will need removing. He also has a large pink callous on one elbow but vet was not bothered by this, reckons he may have laid on concrete alot. Vet also said we have taken his nails down to correct length - easier than my two as he has pale nails and you can see the quick. Heart, ears and eyes all OK. Have some more pictures to put on and will try and do later in day. Tuesday: Blue slept well again. So happy to see us in morning. He's settles so quickly and loves being with the other dogs. He seems very interested in Robbie, sniffing all the time!!!! (all the boys love Robbie! - Robbie says NO, I only have eyes for Sykes!). I had to take him to vet today (at 8.30am) for investigations into the blood in urine. He also drinks far too much. They are putting him under a G.A to do his X-Ray and will call me if they see anything that needs doing whilst he's under G.A. They think it may be stones but not sure. His prostrate seemed OK yesterday. They will call, but if I have not heard from them by 3pm then I have to call them. He didn't want to leave me, I cried when I got outside and called Jenny! Silly old foster Mum. Sue

Awww, bless him. I hope it isn't anything too serious. Buddy is in for his castration today, and it turns out he has only one testicle so they will have to go searching for the other one, meaning a larger incision than usual. I don't think you are silly - I felt sad leaving Buddy with the nurse this morning, whilst his eyes followed me out of the surgery. Big hugs to Blue for a speedy recovery.

Vets have just rung. Blue is out of G.A. and is fine, no operation done but vet wants to see me at 4pm today to discuss X-Ray - will collect Blue then and let you all know outcome later. Everything crossed that it's not bad news.

Blue is home and totally zonked out on carpet, he was very pleased to get out of vets. There were no stones, tumours, cancers etc on his x-rays. They also did an ultrasound which didn't reveal much either. His prostrate is a bit larger than normal but not enough to really worry about BUT they have taken an internal swab from prostrate to test to see if anything shows. They also took an internal swab from bladder to check as the blood level in urine is still same. Results should be in a few days time. Keep the get well wishes coming his way folks - this little lad deserves them. Blue is now microchipped to SLR. Vax etc will be done in a few days time when we collect new results.

Lots of virtual hugs and vibes coming from us. So just a waiting game for the results now I guess. Is he on more antibiotics, or is it a case of wait and see? I suppose his "boy bits" removal is also on hold? Poor Blue - please pass those cuddles on to him, and have a hug for yourself. It's all a worry isn't it? Take care Marcia

No more AB's as he had the full dose and they made no difference. Awaiting results of new tests - neutering can't be done until he sheds 2 kg.
Still very zonked, now on duvet.

Fingers crossed they can find the cause, and treat it sucessfully. You'll have a quiet night with Blue tonight then by the sounds of it!

Well!!!!! after a chat with Jenny for re-assurances (thanks Jenny ), Blue was still zonked on duvet UNTIL he heard Russ move the dog leads whereupon Blue made a miracle recovery and was there waiting for a walk!!!!! Russ has taken our two off and I gave Blue a small portion of boiled chicken and brown rice with herbs. We then had a mini walk out on green in front of house but he wanted to come back. He's now on mat by back door waiting for them to return. He really is a comical character!

So pleased that the scrummy little lad is safely back from the vets. Hope they're able to fully diagnose & sort his problem very soon, & in the meantime, loads of healing vibes from us.
