Another sleepless night for us all. The staples are pulling and causing her to cry out. She will insist on lying on that side and the site of the amputation gets very hot. I'll see what Anil says. Don't want to do it too early in case we have some separation of the wound.

Oh bless, feel sorry for you all. What about lots and lots of pillows so it's extremely soft and plump to lie on? abit like the Princess and the Pea? ;D ;D or is it mainly the staples making the skin pull taught? I remember sitting at one angle for ages after giving birth naturally the first time lol with stitches - it must feel very similar for her when she is lying on her side. Lots of soothing cuddles sent her way . xx

Have just caught up with Ruby's progress, having ben off-line since last Thursday. I am so happy to hear she is doing well and adapting brilliantly to the life of a tripod! Sounds like she could teach my Rosie a thing or two about getting into the back of a car. I hope the wound heals enough to have the staples out so you can all have a better nights sleep.

Poor Ruby, I personally don't think staples and Saluki skin are a very good idea they look so brutal as well Finn has had them twice and both times had to have them redone with stitches

I have to agree Laylah. I had to take Ruby back to Anil this afternoon. She had a bad night and during the day today the staples have got tighter and she has developed a heamatoma on the amputation site, and also fluid on her neck She seemed to have a temperature and there was a lot of heat on the wound so I wasn't going to chance it. Anil has put her on a high dose anti-biotic, plus the anti-inflammatories. She did have a high temperature. She's feeling so sorry for herself tonight.

So do we But cuddling hurts. Stroking her head hurts and her good front foot hurts. She is NBM from now on in case Anil has to sedate her and aspirate some of the fluid in the morning. She will be sharing the kennel run to get Meggie out.

We've upped the Loxicom under Aniil's instructions. Thanks for the photos Jules, just shows how inflammed it was this afternoon. She had a high temperature. Let's hope she gets some sleep tonight.

Temperature is down Donna. But I am taking her back as the swelling is still there. She cried around 4 a.m. for half an hour and then I managed to turn her onto her other side.

I am feeling so sorry for poor Ruby and why that little angel has to suffer so much......... At least her temperature has gone down a bit, at least it seems to be a little step forwards, so let's just hope Anil will get her a bit more comfortable now. Thinking of you all. Viviane. X
