Pablo has been helped by a mixed rescue/holding kennels down in Surrey. They thought him to be such a lovely dog that they were determined that he should live. Pablo has been neutered and had his first vaccinations. He is around 18 months old. A lovely lovable boy. Approximately 26 inches at the shoulder. Pablo is going into foster in Hertfordshire and after assessment will be up for adoption. We are not sure how cat friendly he could be. We can't name the kennels, but thank them very much for the work that they do to save the dogs. A few piccies of the lad today taken by Donna who kindly went and got the two babies out of kennels, is giving them some afternoon tlc and is transporting him and lovely Amy this evening.

Have a mind of their own each Honestly they don't know what to do with themselves. We've just got back from the transport run and all the way there we were wondering who this gorgeous fella' reminded us of We realised that, if he was a bit darker, he'd look just like Santa's Little Helper ;D

After 3 days here, my interim summary of Pablo.
He's about 23" to the shoulder and was 20kg on Wednesday. He's smaller than our Honey.
Pablo is still a puppy. He wants to play and tries to wind Jack up. In particular he's nibbled at his rump and pulled out a bit of fur. Jack is not best pleased with this and now warns him off. So he plays with Amy. He wants to play and romp and jump; there is a step outside our back door - about 9" or so - so he made a grand exit this morning by jumping about 3 feet into the air.
He's not too bothered by cats. We took him to the vets yesterday to have his neutering stitches out and he generally ignored the cats. But he is frightened of dogs he hasn't been introduced to. His tail goes between his legs, there's a low growl which can be followed by a bark and lunge unless he's distracted first.
He's not quite fully housetrained - two accidents in 3 days - but he's a cuddle monster and very good with people. He pulls a bit, so we've tried him on a halti and he's much improved. It also helps when meeting strange dogs as it redirects his gaze.
Pablo would suit a young family who want a playful pooch but he will need a bit of work to show him that other dogs are not a threat.

Thanks for the update John. So, he is easier than Milo then As bouncy, but less vocal. Today I have rescued one cushion from the garden, but can't repair the lilies he's eaten. His forehead is now covered in pollen. He is moving to St Albans at the weekend, isn't he?

His forehead is now covered in pollen. He is moving to St Albans at the weekend, isn't he? I'm not sure but I heard lily pollen is toxic to cats. I've tried googling it for dogs and there's no definitive answer, but I always cut out the pollen heads in any cut lilies indoors, just to be safe. ?

We took Amy and Pablo on the Essex Greyhound Walks walk at Royston Heath this morning. We thought that it would kill or cure Pablo's thing about other dogs. The first dogs we met were CJ and Mollie and Pablo started to grumble but was happy within seconds. But he still rumbled at other dogs not in the group. Everyone agreed what nice dogs he and Amy are. Anyway, here are some pictures; the harness by the way is a halti to stop him pulling. Floppy ears Nosy Child friendly, dog friendly Found the treats Proud, handsome boy The ears, my friend, are blowing in the wind

Just got home from popping into John and Viv with a food delivery and picking up paperwork. OMG. These two are seriously lovable and so lovely. I took some photos and when we have unloaded the shopping and cooked dinner will load them up. This little lad is going to make someone very very happy.

Is it me or did Jack not move at all while the photos were being taken?

Pablo and Riley are two peas in a pod Barney. Wonder if Roger and Jean want another one. Would they notice if he were slipped in the back of the car?!!

I'm afraid Pablo's nickname is tending towards Plonker. He really is a funny boy. He nicked his stopper pad on Sunday, probably on a flint, and there was a flap that I trimmed this morning. As we were taking Honey to the vets for a booster we smuggled him in and she said all looked fine. We think Pablo is changing colour slightly. He was cream and white fur with a few darker spots on his skin, but the saddle over his back is definitely going sandy. Walking them this evening he has the same backside and gait as Honey and a similar tail, but he's also getting quite a Salukified roman nose. Perhaps he's a greyhound x saluki.
