hi everyone, we had a GREAT weekend up in N. yorks..... Saturday Mickey went running with me then We drove out to Wilmslow in the morning, we took Mickey and Koda to the nursing home where my other halfs mum is - Mickey was wonderful. (my RRs were/are registered therapy dogs in the USA) - he was really good - and just layed on the floor. He was very calm and laid back - will definitely pursue his therapy certs.... We went over to the park afterwards for a long walk and hike and Mickey did great - he is doing so well off leash learning to ignore dogs he sees unless he's told to go and play. He had a bit of a game with a LabX that kept bounding up to us - but it was hilarious b/c the dog was so slow and couldn't truely chase him
and Sunday we went for a long walk in the snow... Koda and Mickey had a great time (once they got over being whimpy in the cold & wet) and ran in farm fields - and even had a chase of a hare, Koda was only a fraction of a step behind mickey (good thing I bred fast RRs!)... They played in the snow as well, which was wonderful as my other half hasnt seen koda play in ages....
Sunday afternoon we went to the beach in Scarborough and Mickey was really good - he again ignored all the dogs and kids on the beach and paid attention to us - up on the trails we let him have a game with a goofy boxer puppy.
Back home now and the dogs are snoozing... I will have to get some more pix uploaded!

Hey everyone.... the boys are doing well - Mickey is still a bit of a noodle if I have to go out - but working on it - at least he doesnt destroy the front room..... ! and he is still doing great with the kitties.... we had a fun evening last night out on the golf course - and his brother Koda had a good time rabbit hunting... check out the photos i've just uploaded to the net pets.webshots.com/album/570064795BZMZkX

Lovely pics Janeen - you obviously don't spoil your boys then?
Does Koda harbour ambitions of being a terrier??? ;D

RRs are relentless if prey escapes = and frankly since my RRs never dig anywhere - I have always encouraged them to dig out in fields if we find a bunny hole = it is just so funny to watch.... Mickey seemed quite confused by it all......

Lovely pics Janeen, Mickey is certainly looking very chilled out. It sounds like he's given Koda a whole new lease of life too And a lurcher who doesn't dig?? Well you could knock me down with a feather!! ;D

Hi all, we've been very very busy here in the SE. I met someone who knew Mickey (Kee) before the other day.... she was SHOCKED and pleased at how great he was, happy chilled and not jumping... The boys have been playing like crazy and had a GREAT day at the beach - More photos are online s684.photobucket.com/albums/vv209/skutnikj/
