This has positively made my absolute week! We are so so happy that she is staying with you, Thankyou for taking her in. We did the right thing by Lizzie and reading this wonderful news has made such a hard thing so much easier. I could literally jump for joy. Please give her a big from me, she is very missed but she's landed on her feet with you guys You absolutely did the best by your precious girl...circumstances sometimes bite people on the bum. But sometimes, they fall into place. Maybe it was been meant to be, as Claire (Daisydip) was being lined up for her, and I kinda hijacked it on the day of Jenny's annual meet with the H&D crew. Then, on the day of Lizzie's transport run, Chris's horrible accident happened and thank doG she didn't have Lizzie about to land on her. We thought...we don't want three, we don't want a Saluki...this will be one to see through to her forever home. Well, we did just that, just not the way we expected. It was Andrew who needed to be won over, and Lizzie did it all by herself. Kisses will be duly administered from you Danni. xxx That is so kind of you, me and my husband are thoroughly overjoyed for her. It was fate for you guys, it's such a perfect happy ending for her, one we dreamed of for her and knew deep down you'd fall head over heels for her she's a dog in a million and the time she spent with us was short but we are so grateful we had her for that time you'll have so much fun together, so so so happy! thankyou ever so much again for everything, lovely family you all are! Danielle xxx

Once you have been touched by a saluki you are smitten! Oh, we're 'touched' alright! We must be just a little bit mad right? The next adventure in the caravan will be interesting.

That's really great news, how lovely for Lizzie and you too! I'm sure Alfie will get used to the new girlie in his pack, how do Greta and Lizzie get on?

That's really great news, how lovely for Lizzie and you too! I'm sure Alfie will get used to the new girlie in his pack, how do Greta and Lizzie get on? He's fine, but she's the boss. He's getting a bit braver with Lizzie every day without getting told off, and she's been doing some appeasement yawning at him for the last couple of days....which is a bit weird. Is she saying 'I'm the boss, but I'm okay really'? Greta and Lizzie just totally ignore each other...although Greta play bowed and barked at Lizzie yesterday in the garden, then ran away to the beds when Lizzie responded in kind. Silly girl, it WAS funny though.

We planned the layout so that there's floor space for another dog bed, and now we've got our bigger awning, that'll do nicely. We don't sit in the caravan all day (unlike some caravanners we see)!

Excellent news - well done Lizzie!!!! I've been off on planet AWOL these past few weeks so aside from the initial transport run elements had completely missed this thread! Congratulations Loz, Andrew, Alfie & Greta on your new family member. We didn't want 3 either and definitely not a big hound (Boris is only 1 inch shorter than Snoop )...but when it works, it works.

Just a quick update to say that nothing much has changed. First thing in the morning, things are a bit fizzy as Lizzie's sleeping in her room, so it's a bit exciting when she comes in our room and Alfie gets a bit gobby. Things soon settle down though. She's eating the same amount of kibble as Alfie now with a 3rd of a tray of Wainrights twice daily in an attempt to fill her out a bit. Which is a lot!!! She eats it all, well, okay, she leaves Alfie a couple of pieces of the raw carrot but that's it. Keep an eye out on the Weekly Photo Fun threads for more pics of lovely Lizzie. x

How time flies! It's Lizzie's first gotcha day today, this 'old lady' who runs around like a loony whenever she can, demands your attention to tickle her tummy like the saluki princess she is, quietly wheedled her way in and officially adopted us 1 year ago today. She was meant to be a 'safe' foster for us as neither of us wanted a saluki - far too nutty and vocal...hmm not sure what happened there, lol. Enjoying the view yesterday at Langdon Hill, she later went off lead and had a blast but I was too busy enjoying the moment to take a photo then. Snoozing with the boys, Alfie and Finnegan. Mooching on home territory

Happy Gotcha Day Lizzie. So much for "Safe" fosterdogs. I thought I'd be safe with Hamish as I love the big boys and he is such a squirt. Just goes to show you can never decide who you fall in love with. Lizzie has fitted in so well with you, and she looks so happy.
