We're part of the "FF Club" but it also worries me as so many rescues are now running out of foster homes due to this but we have to follow our hearts.

Sorry folks I've been out of the loop for a few days. Yes it's official Maisie is now a forever part of our lives and we couldn't be more happy. Little did we think when we started fostering that we would fail...and so soon but she melted my heart the day she arrived and Steve and Socks fell victim very soon after. The awful start she had is now a thing of the past and she is enjoying her life here in Suffolk. She had her first proper run today following her spay , over Southwold Common with Paddy and Socks and had the time of her life. she had a woof at a couple of collies but the minute they looked at her she turned tail and ran to Mum! What a wuss, she's all mouth no trousers now and no longer the reactive little tyke she was even a few weeks go, we've spent a lot of time taking her to the pub and cafes in Southwold (strictly in the interests of dog behaviour training you understand) and she's slowly got used to seeing so many other dogs. I do wish I could foster more but we still have Paddy to stay whenever it's needed so never say never...Thanks to everyone for your support and a special thanks for mc for never saying no to any dog needing SLR's help, you truly saved Maisie and we will always be so pleased you did xx

Maisie is a very special hound - my heart skipped a beat when she came it but I am biased where flookies are concerned!! I am so pleased to have met her loveliness at the Fun Day. And Socks of course.

it's lovely to hear how happy you all are and what a lovely life Maisie is going to have. The thing about failed fostering is it means your much less likely to fail again as you know you've reached your limit and the foster will eventually have to go (unless your Romi of course!!!). I thought when I failed with Alice that would be it and I'd not foster again as 3 dogs is a handful when one of them is Alice and it's just me looking after them. But after a while I thought I could probably manage for a short while and there was no chance I would keep the dog, however much I might have fallen in love with them. So far it's worked out well for me... fostering for a while and then having a break. I do get very tearful when I have to say goodbye but in my heart I know I can't have another dog. Never say never, Brenda! I'm looking forward to meeting her and you guys!

Brenda and Steve - wonderful to read that Maisie is now a permanent member of your family! That pointy face is a definite heart-stealer. Wishing you all many long and happy walks together . LIsa xxx
