Maisie went back to see Walter this week. Her ear is healing nicely, eyes still a bit gooey so more drops and ditto for the probiotics to support her gut while it gets used to a normal diet. Her weight is about the same but I'm sure that is because she is now getting two walks each day. She absolutely loves her walks with Socks although I think she would like to take off with him when he goes off-lead; she looks very wistfully at his retreating bum as he races off...but I tell her that her time will come. In the meantime she trots along happily, taking in all the sights, sounds and smells. We're currently concentrating on building up some muscle, particularly in the right leg which is still a bit weak but the signs are good and she doesn't seem unduly worried by it. She goes back to see Walter in a couple of weeks and he will start her vacs. No photo's this time sorry folks, I'll get snapping for the next update, hopefully her season will be over and we can take her a bit further afield for a photo shot xx

Lovely update Brenda. It's great to hear how well she is doing under your care. Looking forward to some photos and I'm betting well hardly recognise her.

After just five weeks with Brenda and Steve Maisie is looking great. She has a bit more weight and her fur is growing back, the tail does not stop wagging.

The photos are great, but having a waggy tail is the best bit! x

Hello folks. Thank you for the lovely comments. I tried to get PB to load the video I took at Rod's but it wouldn't have it but I knew he would put some photos on. We are so pleased with Maisie's progress and she has fitted in so well here. She's a real cutie. I'm working on her manners at the moment as she does give a bit of a woof when she meets dogs, even Paddy got a little one but he soon won her round! There's no aggression in it and she is such an intelligent little soul I have no worries and she always stops when commanded and will stand and watch quietly as Socks leaps in and snogs everyone! We took her into Southwold for a walk and morning coffee last week and she sat and watched the world go by so more of the same when we get the chance. We're taking the caravan for its first overnight stay of the season next week so it will give her the chance to have another new experience. Some friends are bringing their dogs (one lurcher the other small and furry) to visit us at the van so again, another chance for her to practice meets and greets. She has her vaccinations on Tuesday, another milestone for her. Will try to get some pics up this week xx

Maisie went back to see Walter yesterday. Her eyes are still a bit bothersome so he's given me some lotion. Everything else good though and her weight is now a very healthy 17.4 k. she has started her vacs and back in two weeks for the second dose. She's doing quite well with seeing other dogs; we give her plenty of space and she will walk by ok, it's only when they get too close that she gets worried and woofs a bit. We've postponed the caravan trip due to the gale force winds, will try again next week. This morning we introduced her to a very blowy Lowestoft sea front, I'm posting a couple of pics of her out walking which she loves; she has a couple of 50mins - an hour walks per day and her flat foot is still there but getting stronger.
