Lovely updates on the little chap Jane. He really looks such a sweetheart. His ears remind me of Alices'. She has the bat ears as well xx

Yes she can Jane but they are never both upright. Her left one always points out to the side!!

Well it looks like Isla wins hands down! Or should I say ears down...groan!! All hopes of circulation abandoned.....my dad is visiting so he and Ed were on the 3 seater. Henry took over the 2 seater and I squeezed on the end and spent an hour with Arthur curled on my lap and an hour with James there too. Clearly, I need more furniture... And now of course, as I decide I deserve an early night, Nocturnal Bat-ears Arthur comes to life! Wonder how long it will be before the sound of hide chew munching becomes a lullaby for me! Arthur resting to conserve his energy for bedtime!!

I hope it was warm enough for coffee and cake in the cafe too Jane? Ed had prob'ly told Arthur that's what happens after a visit to that favourite shop of his and if you didn't go he might think Ed's winding him up ... again!!

No time for coffee and cake - too much work to do - too many coats to brush - too many ears to clean....how Mimsmum, MadGilly, Karla etc cope I do not know!!

Last night, Little King Arthur sidled up close to Old King Henry and the 2 gentlemen could be heard whispering. Please, Great Uncle Henry, said Arthur. You are so skilled in Old Lurcher Lore, will you teach me how to sleep like you? I have seen you practise this ancient art in so many forms. I've seen you do the door-lean-lurcher.... .....the radiator-roll.... ....the head-hang-hound... .... Ive even seen you demonstrate the coffee-table-cushion to perfection despite your age and physique... I just want to be as skilled as you Great Uncle Henry, begged young Arthur earnestly. As you like, my boy, replied Old King Henry. I shall first lead you through the snuggle-on-sofa position but as this is your first time I would like you to use your Foster Mum as support. Here we go...after me.... Well done young man, said Old King Henry with a solemn smile. You have learned quickly. But as I do not want to tire one so recently hospitalised, I will guide you through only 1 more position. This position is the very basic lurcher-loll, otherwise known to humans as the basic roach. Once you have mastered this, my pupil, we will move on to greater things. So, lie...and twist-roll-loll....well done Arthur, but take care of your tender parts. How long will Little King Arthur have to practise the basic Lurcher-Loll before Old King Henry allows him to move to more complex lurcher-laydowns?

I think the next manoeuvre Arthur learns should be "sleep through the night"
