Christina has picked up the little lad from kennels today ;D He is painfully thin, has brought some friends with him, but is still wagging his tail and let the cat eat out of his bowl when he had dinner . Christina had forgotten as all her crew are cat friendly. Alex is about to give him an SLR name, so watch this space. Sara is on stand-by for the lad though.

How old is he? I think he might be related to my Captain Levi who was also in extreme depression when I picked him up in May. Same colouring and he came from sussex/surrey If they are related he will probably have a gentle temperament. Give him a hug from us.

He is sitting next to me as I type this. He does look a bit like Captain Levi and is being very good. He is not just cat friendly but is scared of Arnold our cat . We went for a lovely walk this evening over the fields with the young man on a lead (not Alex). We met a few dogs both male and female and he was fine, still a little shell shocked but no agression, and no food aggression either . He let me put my hand in the bowl of his dinner tonight even though he was dribbiling at the smell of the mince, ate with the girls and let Arnold's head in the bowl he was eating!!! Stupid boy! A few bowls of Burns and he will soon fill out. His only vice so far is the smells coming from his rear end, hopefully this will get better He is not fully house trained yet, but we have only had one accident so far. And it may be just marking. I haven't had time to take any pic's yet but promise to put some on tomorrow morning. He is very thin with his backbone clearly visable and needs love and lots of cuddles. He walked beautifully on the lead with Alex trotting along beside him, but pulled a bit with me, just eager to get going - not too much. All in all a real Gentleman. Anybody who adopts this lad will have a friend for life. Oh yes and Alex has called him Buddy.

Thanks Christina. And sorry Jayne for getting you all confused. I think I need to sort out with Bowenhurst which dogs they are holding for. They seem to hold for more than one Council. Thanks Jayne for your intial visit to this boy. The Dog Warden Service finishes tomorrow and they wanted him sorted before they left.

Why is the dog warden service finishing? and what will happen to dogs left tied up or just abandoned without them??? Sorry have I missed something that is happening everywhere or just in that area?

In Harlow they are now taken over by the Pest Control services. And out of hours you have to take care of any dogs that you find and then phone the council. All stupid now. I think Neil will still work for some Councils, but not the one that we have been dealing with. But the holding kennels work between two councils as they are onthe cusp so to speak. Jayne knows the set-up and she is our lady in the know.

How can such a beautiful dog end up unwanted My first lurcher was a "throw away" hound and to me he was perfect in every way I think Angie's signature says everything "unwanted rubbish, turned out to be diamonds" The kind of people that throw these dogs out are "the losers in every way" Thank dog there are the "angels" like Jenny and co I'm sure Buddy is going to find someone very soon who thinks he is their diamond Big hugs from me Buddy and well done everyone for getting him to safety
