Genie still watches me constantly to check she isn't doing anything wrong. I almost long for her to be naughty... someone must have controlled her so powerfully, through fear and pain... in the past. She sits at the slightest hint of me saying sit and she recalls in an instant..not a glimmer of hesitation which of course is wonderful in some ways but I also feel quite sad for her. I'm in love with Buddy and I cannot stop looking at him. However my pack is complete...yes...it ...is. I hope Buddy finds his forever home very soon. Another SLR gorgeous boy. Rough brindles are magic!!!!

Another great night with Buddy! I took him to feed the horses this morning on the way to the vet for his op. He wasn't at all fazed by two large neddies close by and pretty much ignored them! He was VERY interested in rabbits and birds rustling around in the dense hedge around the field, but didn't try to pull or dash towards them - just very alert - I've never seen his ears so pricked!! Also in our garden sometimes he sniffs all around the lawn for about 10 minutes like a bloodhound on the scent of something - I imagine it is cats he can smell as they are constantly in and out our garden. All the staff at the vets were fussing over him like mad when I left him there this morning. Bless.

The Vets have just rung. They are ALL in love with him. Poor Buddy has only got one testicle showing so it will be an explore to find the other one as well. Ho De Ho!. Hopefully it will be somewhere down near the other one

There will be an extra yummy supper waiting for him after his exploratory operation. I was surprised that he weighed in at 23kg this morning, as he looks so thin still.

Buddy is home! ;D He is still very much away with the fairies. Vet told me that he was pretty much asleep after the pre-med, so obviously very sensitive to anaesthetics. He walked out of the vets and did the biggest poo on the gravel outside! He had obviously been waiting until he got outside bless him - what a clever boy! He's stood for ages just staring at the dog bed - his head dropping, and then he suddenly woke himself up alittle. In the end I carried him on to the bed, and after about 10 minutes of sitting he has crashed out lying down. They found his other testicle behind his bladder, so not too invasive. But he has to stay on lead for 10 days, and goes back in 3 days for a post op check. They are not sure what is causing his skin condition - could be stress or could be mites. He was so much better after a tea-tree shampoo bath that we will do this every couple of days and see how we get on.

He hasn't moved off his bed in almost 4 hours!! He hasn't even stirred!! I'm going to have to wake him up soon to see if he needs a wee. I've never seen a dog zonked out quite like this before.

He's still very zonked this morning. We had a fab night with him - he hardly stirred at all. He's been in the garden to do 3 wees and then we found he had managed to climb on the sofa. He didn't eat at all last night, so we will see if he wants food this morning. I can't see a big wound although I haven't disturbed him to look for it.

:)Love to Buddy and so glad he came through the op so well - the rogue testicle seems to happen quite a lot from conversations at the vet. We look forward to seeing him at the field when he is signed off ;D Love Margey
