THIS THREAD HAS BEEN UPDATED. PADDY NOW HAS FULL NORMAL LEG GROWTH AND MOVEMENT. PLEASE DO NOT BE PUT OFF BY THESE EARLY POSTS. PLEASE READ AND SEE HOW MUCH THIS LOVELY LOVELY PUPPY HAS PROGRESSSED AND HOW HE HAS A TEMPERAMENT TO DIE FOR. FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN STEADY ON THEIR LEGS WELCOME, BUT HE NEEDS ANOTHER DOG AROUND... ...................................................................................... Paddy came over with Willow from a lovely Irish Rescue. His Angels. He has a way to go before his limbs develop and it could be that he will be left with a deformed front left leg Hopefully plenty of calcium and good food and he will carry on development in a normal way. Sadly he does have a bowed leg. Paddy is to die for. Quiet, soulful and just my type of baby. Put your eyes back in Jules. He hasn't stopped following us around since he arrived. He has had a lovely bath and two small meals. Paddy is off later for fostering with Chas and Patch, so will have some big boys to look up to. He is to die for Richard. Just a couple of photos cos I have to go teach. Michael is home with him so he will get plenty of cuddles. Posing with Rebecca Enjoying some sun on the patio And with Little Willow who has gone with foster mum Rebecca

When standing he can't stay in one position too long as his legs are bowed. They start to sway God, he is soo soo lovely, and standing next to me as I type.

so relieved Paddy made his safe journey to SLR and arrived ok he looks like an absolutely beautiful little boy, hopefully everything will now be much better and brighter for him from now onwards, hope he will respond well to good food and he won't have any long term damage to his legs, hopefully his bowed leg will be something he can live with and it won't hinder him at all, we would have really ,really loved to have been able to offer to foster -to - fail Paddy ...but unfortunately we have a family funeral in Sussex to attend sometime in the next few weeks and a family day trip to London in April so cannot commit to a dog properly as one would deserve until late April....if Paddy is still with SLR then maybe we could think seriously about him if he doesn't already have a home by then...

We took Paddy over to Aniil last night to have a checkup on those legs and feet. He has flat feet, and I mean flat feet. Because of being confined for so long they haven't developed, so his toes just lie flat on the floor. This might improve. His legs are bowed, and some of it due to the lack of calcium in his short life, but he also has a similar condition to Phoebe1's Phoebe when she came in. His Radius has grown on longer than the Ulna and so he has a deformed left leg, and the right leg could also go the same as he grows on, but is not as prominent. We have vitamin D for him, a good Burns diet (thank you so much Burns for all the deliveries this week for all the pups ) and he will get lots of fresh air and TLC with gentle walks to strengthen up his bones over at Richards. He weighed in at 11 kilos, so god knows how thin he was when Hannah took him in. He is dated at around 5.5 months and is around 21 inches at the shoulder. He has a heart of gold. His only fault, he can't get enough food. He opened the freezer door whilst he was here and was trying to eat anything that moved. I'm sure Richard will update his thread shortly.

hope Paddy won't have any problems with his poor legs in the future, hopefully the right leg won't go the same as the left and he can still enjoy life and learn how to enjoy being a happy boy and do all the normal things puppies enjoy doing , hope he does really well and soon learns that he will never have to go hungry ever again

He opened the freezer door whilst he was here and was trying to eat anything that moved. You have moving things in your freezer? I thought that was just me.... and having just "come to" after fainting from Paddy's brindle handsomeness I might just have to pass out again... After a while they evolve, you know. The Things. In the freezer.

Hi everyone, here is a quick update of how Paddy has got on over the past 24 hours. Firstly, he is a dear little fellow with a big personality, and despite sleeping for most of the journey back from Jenny’s, he was full of beans when we got home. It is going to be very difficult not to fall in love with him! Despite the problems with his flat feet, they didn’t stop him trying to get into the kitchen cupboards and surfing the counters! He is very thin, much more than in the pictures, and wolfed down his meal, scattering most of it all over the floor! He has a very friendly temperament and although Patch and Chas weren’t too sure why another dog was in their house, they all settled after about an hour. However, we did have a very restless night. Paddy howled when we put him in the crate, and Chas decided to join in with a lot of barking; in the interest of staying friends with our neighbours we kept them both in our room leaving Patch happily settled on the sofa! Today Paddy’s confidence has grown throughout the day and he has been exploring the house as much as he can – he has already mastered the stairs. Chas still seems a bit unsure of what is going on but he has been playing with Paddy, making lots of noise with the squeaky toys – not much work has been done today. There have been a few little accidents, but he is getting the hang of going to the toilet outside. We’ve taken him out for short walks and his movement has improved significantly since yesterday evening. In typical lurcher fashion he has found the sofa and, as I type, has made himself comfortable on Nicola’s lap (see one of the pictures below). Some pictures to wet the appetite All tuckered out!! Settling in I'm in charge!!! (This is my sofa) Further updates soon....
