I have finally worked out what is wrong with Ollie's tummy He gets diarrhea from traveling in the car! I have been walking the dogs to the local fields for two weeks as my car was having some work done for its MOT and his tummy was perfect, once the car was back I started to take him out in it and again the diarrhea started again! My poor baby.

Hi Gilly, Incase it's something else with Ollie, just to say he used to go out with me loads in the car ( daily some weeks) for the 14 weeks he was with us & didn't have any upsets with his tummy or sickness. Glad to see he's getting on so well. Bron x

Hi, It's been a while since I have given you all an update on Ollie's world here at his forever home Well he is fighting fit, settled and relaxed so that's the important thing. He has made lot's of new friends at his local field, but his best play friend is his little Roxy, she is our white fluffy Jack Russell. They go everywhere together, they swap food bowls, play tug of war and clean each other most evenings in front of the fire (it's love ) Ollie is off lead all the time, apart from the wood's as there is too many temptations His recall is good and he is now learning recall to the whistle (Ollie will do anything for a biscuit). He is quite nervous of dominant dogs and will freeze on the spot, bless him he will just stare at me if to say "Mummy, HELP", when off lead he tends to stay close and if we walk on while he's having a sniff then he runs fast to catch up. Ollie has made our home complete and we thank SLR for letting him come home to us. Love Gilly x

Ollie is going back to school...... Over the last few months with our handsome boy we have been so pleased with his on and off lead walking and recall. Of course we have been watching him very closely to make sure he is ok with all breeds of dog due to him being attacked When greeting all dogs he stands still, wags his tail and he wont run around playing (as the guys at the Hayling Island beach walk would tell you), but he has always seemed OK Our Sammy (our other Lurcher) has been getting worse with his on lead aggression when a dog either approaches on or god forbid runs up to us. Well it turns out (via a dog behaviorist) that Sammy is trying to defend Ollie because Ollie is actually quite scared of the greeting, hence freezing on the spot, and then most of the dogs that great Ollie end up jumping on his back to dominate him, and he just stands there, by this time Sammy is on lead going mental! Sammy is a rescue dog of about 7 years and by his ripped ears and scars has not had the best of lives, so when it comes to his pack being safe he will lay down his life for them So the plan going forward ;D Both the boys are going to have a Zylkene Tablet before going out, these are a fantastic, herbal tablet that calms and takes the edge off the situation. This will help Ollie with his confidence and the body language he gives off, and it will help Sammy to keep clam, taking the stress of him. Both the boys are going to school on a Wednesday evening, there are a few Lurchers that go so very happy This will let both the boys relax and enjoy getting to know other dogs. I also have a good friend with a GSD and he is going to come and stay with us at the weekends I know in time Ollie will be confident again, he is very happy at home, playing and instigating games, tug of war and wrestling with me Lot's of love, Olliesmum x

An update on my boy What can I say about Ollie, without being detrimental to my other dogs, I have to say that Ollie is perfect He has been with us for 8 months now and he is the perfect gentlemen, he gives us so much love, hugs and leans. He truly is one in a million. Ollie has a best friend called Bodhi, they really do love each other to bits and as soon as they wake up they are playing and charging around the garden like a couple of loons ;D He still loves his food Keith, and we can not wait to come up to the SLR fun day as I know that Ollie had a huge fan club up there and it would be lovely for him to see some old friends Thank you SLR for Ollie, he is amazing and a true ambassador for lurcher's, he always greets people and other dogs with a waggly tail and seems to realise he has to be very gentle with small children and the very elderly Love Olliesmum x x

Thanks for the update Gilly. As his first foster family, we have to agree he is a wonderful dog The kindest nature, and such a fantastic playmate to our Fionn (he was into the heavy wrestling that Fionn is partial to ) When you think about it he has been through the mill over the last year. First his horrible dermodectic mange and bald spots when he came to us. Then his awful post-neutering reaction complete with major swelling and bruising (and the plastic cone which he was a master at removing. Then rehomed and sadly returned again. Then his attack The poor boy has really been through it. Yet he remains such a wonderful boy. He deserves every bit of happiness he gets now It'll be lovely to see you again at the funday- hopefully this time we won't be rained on and can have a proper chat!

I am so glad that both Rowan and Keith saw his update And your both right, he has been to hell and back over the last year. But look at him, still giving that cheeky grin, he loves wrestling with ME , his coat is lovely and thick with a great shine, he plays all the time (as I type he and Bodhi are running like loonys around the garden, and the grass was only laid two weeks ago ;D ;D, I'll let them explain that to Daddy when he gets home) ;D Ollie is one of those dogs that come in to a lot of people lives and leaves a very big paw print on their hearts Keith, Ollie's travel belly is controlled with ginger biscuits ha ha ha, it helps and is nothing to do with my driving ;D ;D You wait to I see you next ;D

This is the first time I have read his whole story - poor little lad, I didn't realize he'd been through so much. He is so settled now and in so short a time too. He is a credit to you Gilly. Love the glowing eyes pic - like alien-dogs.
