[/quote] Ollie is certainly to laziest Lurcher I have ever met I have to say that the lead training is going so well, the big lad is walking on a long lead at my side I am exercising the two lurcher's with long road walks at the moment until Ollie is given the OK to go off the lead.

Poor Ollie We were out walking the dogs earlier and out of no where a black GSD run out of a house and run over to Jim and the Jack Russell's, he was so aggressive, Ollie and Sammy went mad as I was walking them about 10ft behind. The owner came out and was calling his dog but clearly had no control or want to help. The GSD then came running over to me and the boys and he was barking, hackles up and, I think, ready to attack. Sammy stepped back behind me but Ollie went mad, growling and lunging at the GSD. I shouted over to the owner to get control of his dog, Jim went mad at the guy. When he got hold of his dog I said that Ollie had recently been attacked by a GSD and his irresponsible behavior has probably sealed it for Ollie to always be scared of GSD's! We are all ok and we continued down to the field for our walk, but it was sad to see Ollie so scared/aggressive, but I don't blame him at all, the GSD was horrible.

Hi Gilly, Glad to see Ollie is coming on so well. The poor chap with his GSD attack, it looks so sore. He had a bit of a thing for GSD's when we had him plus he's not too keen on Staffie's !!. It's so lovely to see him settled, he was such a good boy with us around the home & so loving - just had the big cat issue plus squirrels & hedgehog's strangly enough. Lovely to see photo's of him. All the best, Bron x

Thanks for that Keith, he has been fine with all breeds that he's met, including a couple of GSD's. He just didn't like this one on Sunday because he was agressive towards his girls... Bless him x

Hi Gilly, He looks very happy & in his favourite horizontal pose ! For me it's lovely to see him happy & he has a lovely canine & human family ! We have a puppy now,Luca, he's a whippet X & 17 weeks old. He's black with a small white blaze on his chest, which i thought was a nice reminder of Ollie.(He springs up & down like him too) He's jumping all over our Westie but Mac has the patience of a saint. Much love to Ollie, Bron x

Hi - Ollie, along with Maisie, was one of my favourite lurchers to follow on here. It's a fantastic story for both of them to have ended up in the right place where they are loved and can run free. My own lurcher is a similar black and white short coat girl and is a great joy to me - go the black dogs! Fiona

When you think Ollie has been through enough get a load of this..... The counter surfer strikes again Two nights ago Ollie helped himself to the chicken scraps that where in the kitchen sink waiting happily to be chicken breakfast, I awoke at 4am to a noise (a very happy/naughty Lurcher) sitting on the kitchen floor happily eating his "midnight snack" . With a guilty look on his face and a "time to go to bed" from mummy no more was said. Well so we thought, Ollie this morning started to be sick and had a very poorly tummy , when picking up his sick I saw a part of a corn on the cob!!!! Remembering that there was two corn on the cobs in the chickens scraps I went to Jim and asked what he cleared out of the sink, surprise surprise there was no corn on the cobs . On called the vet and being told that the cob is one of the most difficult and dangerous objects to get stuck in a dogs tummy Ollie was whisked down to the vets. To say I felt bad and cried to hours is an understatement, I have sat at the vets all day and refused to leave until I new what was happening with my boy. The great news is that there was nothing stuck in him but the bad news was that they found a bad bacterial infection that has been there a while and he is now being treated for that. So I guess somethings happen for a reason, without the corn on the cob scare I wouldn't of known about his infection!!!! And finally I need to go in the Guinness book of records for owning the most expensive piece of corn on the cob, £230 worth!!! My baby is, as I type, laying on his back snoring his head off and dreaming of the nurses at the vets and all the food they gave him today... One happy Lurcher. Oh, and I forgot to say, Jim has been very ill since last Wednesday with Gastric Flu and has lost over a stone in weight.. Well it turns out that the infection that Ollie has has probably been passed to Jim and he has to be tested to make sure he hasn't got the same bacterial worms as Ollie has Poor Jim and Ollie. Apart from the above Ollie is doing really well and all being well and no more food getting stuck in his tummy, he can play off the lead this weekend ;D ;D x x x
