It was an odd coincidence that on Sunday I ended up sitting in the pub next to Gem. Odd in that I'd said to Jenny on the walk that if I could ever get another dog it would be a brindle. Yeh - odd that I know I will sound like a scratched record but Gem is a really affectionate and sweet dog. I know Staffies to be wonderful dogs (given the right owner and upbringing) and agree that it's her Staffiness that may put some off. That would be a mistake given that she spent most of the meal trying to get me to stroke her. I can't have two dogs as mine comes to work with me and two is just not possible. But if I was in the market I certainly would be taking a long look at Gem.

Gem really is a funny little critter. If only people could meet her, they'd fall in love. She's not a pushover the way some dogs are but she's feisty, fun, loyal and loving.
If any one would like to meet her, we're prepared to travel for roughly an hour from any point on the M25, so if you live 2 hours away from London, we could meet halfway. If you want a stocky little dog with stamina to match, the journey won't be wasted. If you want a fashion accessory, get a chihuahua ;D

Don't get too excited. They haven't met yet and she might decide she's a horrible monster; and the prospective adopter might think the same about Gem ;D It's more important that Gem gets the right home and any home. But I'm confident things will go well.

Good luck Gem - as you so often say, the right home is out there, it just takes a little longer for some people to realise this. ;D
