Alfie is due to come in this afternoon. Lovely Joy will be picking him up and fostering him for us. Alfie's owner has tried desperately to find him a new home. Alfie was one of two dogs that she has and his friend, a boxer, was re homed two weeks ago but she has been unable to find anyone to take Alfie. It is no longer fair on Alfie for him to be left home alone for long hours, through no fault of her own, this credit crunch and personal circumstances have meant that she has had to go back to work. Alfie is a very loved and cared for boy. 10 years young, neutered, vaccinated and all worming etc up to date. He is a very steady boy, good on and off the lead, and still has that mad 5 minutes when he is first let off the lead. He is faithful and loving and his owner is only letting Alfie come into SLR because of the way that we operate. Here is lovely Alfie, photo taken by his mum Sarah.

Another lovely boy Alfie his owners must be upset having to re home him but they have his best interest at heart lots of peoples circumstances have changed at the moment and they need to make some difficult decisions when it comes their animals welfare . So a wise choice to re home through SLR I am sure he will find his own sofa again soon. And in the mean time he will be in a nice foster home with Joy and her hounds.

What a beautiful boy. What a terrible decision to have to make, but well done.

A very hard but brave decision to have to make.
Alfie is just absolutely gorgeous. From the photo he certainly doesn't look 10 years old.

I picked up Alfie this lunch time - he is such a poppet. A bit shy and in awe of Bonnie and Sam. He walks very well on lead - obviously havn't let him free yet, but he is very attentive. Took him for micro chipping - vet and assistant fell for him. He was so well behaved. Don't know what they put in him but on return Sam and him just went daft. racing round like loonies. Bonnie just sat and stared. They are now all asleep in various chairs - pics to follow. Unlike Lady he is eating well. His Mum said he had been to stay with her sister sometimes so that is a good thing.

He is a super little chap. He looks & sounds every bit as scrummy as we imagined him Joy.

Alfie is absolutely no trouble - very affectionate. Took all three out round creek - he is excellent on lead. I think following pics show how good he is being and where he decided to sleep. Fortunately my two are very laid back and don't mind sharing.
