Little Eddie was due to spend Christmas in holding kennels and then the outlook didn't look good. I went to pick up a lovely bitch girlie that we had agreed to take and only went to take photos to see if there was any way that we could get this little fellow out. I just couldn't leave him behind. He was freezing, he was scared and just pleaded with us with his lovely eyes to take him. Poor mite was picked up as a stray, but has had an injury to his side. At the moment he is quite quiet and subdued. He has had a bath, visited the vets and has some medication for an ear infection and temperature. He has joined Mims pack very easily, except little Sofi is not willing to be the lowest in the pecking order so has told him so. Elly hasn't noticed him around yet!! Here he is - around 16-18 months old. A quiet little thing. Only about 22 inches at the shoulder, and very whippety with a hint of staffi back there somewhere. He is orange and grey and brown brindle. Soft coated and smooth. He came with no fleas If anyone wants to foster him, or better still offer to adopt him, he is no trouble and just wants to sleep. He is booked in for neutering on January 6th. He has some scaring on his left side, which has been treated somewhere. I have briefly looked in dogs lost but can't find any dogs like him at the mo. Will look in depth later. And very child friendly.

I don't know if he is cat friendly Helen. But he is definitely chicken friendly. He was a yard from one today and just snipped and wagged. He is a little depressed tonight. Just wants to lay down and watch us all. Even Elly seems to sense the sadness in him. I think he was loved and he is pining.

He'll be alright, Jenny, just give him a couple of days to settle. It's understandable that everything has been a bit much for him.

Amazing how much difference a good night's sleep makes. We made up a dog bed in the corner of the bedroom. He slept next to Mim all night and not a peep. Tag woke us up for his usual wee as soon as the heating kicked in at 7 a.m. and he popped his head up and wagged. He has a lovely red coat, I am hoping I am thanking the right person, but I think Rachel sent it and also she sent a lovely red collar for Mims but I think you will agreed that little Eddie really suits it. He has had a bath and smells gorgeous. Eddie knows tricks and can melt you with his lovely eyes. He is still trying to mark here and there, but caught just in time he seems to know and waits to be let outside. Just a couple of accidents. He is very vocal when he meets new dogs, but it is excitement. He runs up to them wagging and yelping and much nose sniffing and wagging and play bow goes on. I think he is around the age of 2, just, or just under. He makes sure he keeps me in sight and is very respectful of the girls. He wasn't allowed up on the bed this morning, Megan told him he hasn't been here long enough yet. Milo takes up all the room anyway. This little man is so so lovely. He is going to make someone very happy.

Little Ed has had a lovely day. He slept like a log again. We had four dogs in the bedroom last night as number one son arrived for the night. Two dogs on the landing and Miss Elly downstairs. Ed joined us downstairs for early morning tea today. He looked very festive in his red aqua fleece and red coat with matching collar and lead And posing in front of the tree They all polished off their Christmas cake made by Waggersmum Kris. ;D I am sure little Ed will find a fantastic family in a heartbeat. He is a lovely little chap.
