When people point out that their lives don't revolve around their dogs, I look at them quite confused. Moving furniture, garden designed for zoomies..... of course our lives revolve around these beautiful hounds When you see Nellie in between Floyd and Phoebe it shows her to be quite dainty. I always think 2 weeks before they show their true nature. She is well and truly feeling safe with you and Tim and your gang are great play mates.

She is a rather perfectly sized lap dog I love these updates, I honestly don't know how you manage all of them but in a mad way they seemingly work well together! I love seeing her and Floyd playing...what doe the ginger one think of their blossoming friendship?! x

Well who knew we had a Nellie shaped hole in our lives that needed filling, and fill it she does, a bit like Phoebe's old puppy bed that I dug out today.....Nell has rather taken to that too, all her snoozes have been in it So yes, she is our fourth entry in to SLR'S Failed Foster Club and three of them make up our lurcher pack here and now She really doesn't take up much room, and in the evenings when it's quiet (just for a change!) you could forget she's here (unless she's stuck to your lap or under your legs of course) as she likes to be cosied up under things.. Nell has been back to the vet for a check up on her ears after a week of drops for a bad infection which was causing the smell. Her ear drums are visible now (they weren't before) so a few more days of drops and it should've all cleared up. Judging by her increased liveliness she is clearly feeling better. Just how much livelier can she get?! This week she and Floyd have been bouncing off the furniture and each other and pulling more toys apart. I lifted this from Facebook, it pretty much sums up things here if you substitute the child for a hound or three... Little Nell is back to the vet tomorrow for her ladies op so a day of nail biting in store. It is going to be a challenge keeping her calm for the recovery! As if she knew it was her last chance for a while, she had a blast around the garden today. I grapped the camera but the light was poor and there was no time to adjust anything, but you'll get the gist... Those ears.....Grommit She's no made further progress with the weight gain, in fact she's lost some of what she had put on so she is back down to 17.1kg but I'll try her on some puppy food (thanks MC for the suggestion) after she's recovered from her op. Til then I'll add an egg to her meals as the vet suggested doing for increased protein. On one of our walks the other day, I had what was possibly an insight in to Nell's former life. Phoebe loves fetching a squeaky ball when she's off lead, so I took two with me, one to keep Phoebs happy and one for Nell to play with on a long lead. Each time Nell went for the ball, she pounced on it, squeaked it, dropped it and sat down looking up at me. Hmmmmm. Has someone been used to catch things me wonders. How many bunnies might she bring back when she does get to go off lead?! If we pause on a walk, she'll sit by your side patiently as if waiting to be told to move. Hmmmm. Nell sometimes goes lame on her front right leg after she's been resting (nothing so far during or after exercise), maybe that's why she was of no further use. Nell doesn't like raised voices and is very nervous of meeting new people but for her to be as affectionate and tactile as she is with us, someone must have shown her love and kindness at some point in her life. Ah well, whatever happened, she's gone from pikey pooch to posh paws in purple now with the start of her own collar collection We loves you Nellie Noodle, Nellie Noo Nah, Nellie Jelly Bean

Congratulations on another FF. From everything posted so far, Nell will keep you all on your toes! I love the flying ears photo. Are you sure the Nelliephant is not related to Dumbo? Good luck for the op and keeping little Nell calm while she recovers.
