Hi all. An update from me for a change. Sal will update later (tomorrow) with photos etc. Lucy (NOW NAMED NELLIE) has settled in brilliantly with our lot. I can let you know that she is certainly no longer shut down! She’s been giving our lot the proper runaround make no mistake. She is delightful. She’s had a bath, been checked over at the v.e.t (all good - weighing in at 17 kilos), had a walk on the forest and a hearty meal. Clean in the house so far. She’s currently asleep next to me on the sofa.

Poor mite was found abandoned and has served her 7 days in holding kennels. She was so shut down. She is such a lovable little one, very happy to be out and into a home. She may have been in a home as she has been clean indoors. She has readily slipped into family life and with two other bitches and one male lurcher. She is being fostered near New Milton, Hampshire. I will leave her foster mum and dad to fill you in on her character and I know there will be some ultra lovely photos to follow. Lucy will have a vet check shortly and then sort out neutering. She is only little for a Lurcher girlie, but all cute with it. Lucy

Oh dear, having Phoebe and Floyd as playmates doesn't bode well for her future behaviour Well done Sally and Tim, four not enough for you then

Just a quickie update as it's not easy to type with a brindle beauty draped across your lap, but suffice to say she has been perfect so far. Looking at her now sleeping snuggled up with Floyd, I'd say the last two nights may just have been the best of her life so far. I'll post more tomorrow and piccies too but wanted to reassure everyone she is doing just fine, eating well and showing us her playful side as well as how very affectionate she is. A rinky dinky poppet who is now known as Nell...little Nell...cos with her resplendent ears (which give you a mean slap in the face when she shakes at close proximity) she is a Nelliephant

This little lady has just landed in SLR's care from the pound so won't have been tested. I see you're also interested in Jessie. You'll need to send an email to Jenny (jenny@southernlurcherrescue.org.uk) with information about yourself, your home/work situation etc and then a home check can be sorted for you.

Nell is definitely no longer shut down She has just been zooming around the garden with Phoebe without a care in the world bless her. Hopefully now they've had a bit of a burn up outside, I'll have a few rare quiet minutes to show and tell you about this little poppet. So far there is nothing not to love about her. We're all a bit smitten . Lets see what MC'S magic day 4 brings, when all the true colours should be seen. Our vet checked her over and she stood there so compliantly, letting him examine her, flex her joints, check her ears and teeth, listen to her heart, clip her claws and have her first vaccination without so much as a murmur, and showed him how waggy her tail is. It's like a whip! She has had a litter for sure but he thinks probably not within the last 6 months. Her teeth are really good and from looking at them he suggests Nell is no more than 2 or 3 years old. Her disposition is super. I bathed her on Fri as she smelt pretty bad and was rather grubby (the colour of water proved that), but again she let me do this without a struggle and her coat has come up so glossy. Physically she's in good shape, just a few scars but two that could be ciggy burns. She takes food gently, doesn't scoff it, no snatching, and sits in the hope of more coming her way. Her appetite is good so she should gain an extra kilo or two in due course. I slept downstairs with the five of them on Fri, but there were no issues and she went through the night without a peep. Last night she followed Floyd upstairs and made herself quite comfy snuggled up with us. I think Nell and Floyd had the best nights sleep, certainly better than we did with the space they left us She really is happy girlie, likes to chat a bit, watches you and listens like she is taking in every word, is very tactile with us and the hounds, but doesn't follow us from room to room, plays with toys and can fly over a closed gate! Fortunately that was within the confines of our garden. She has springs in her feet for sure. Enough waffle for now, but there's bound to be something I've forgotten, so on with some video and piccies .... This was on Fri, just after bringing her home.. Playbows were soon exchanged.. Tiny little bundle of brindles.. Those ears! This was this morning before zoomies commenced.. Oh blimey those pics came out a bit large and around the wrong way! Sorry guys. I'm still getting the hang of posting them without the use of Photobucket.

Lovely photos and videos. Nellie (love the new name) clearly has a brain size to match her ears size. It did not take her long to figure out she was safe and would be care for and could relax. Well done Sal and Tim and pack.
