This lovely lady is now on route to meet Jennys pack. She is small child and small dog friendly but may look different in a day or two as I suspect she will have to be clipped due to excessive matting!! Many thanks to the relinquishing owners for saving her from the travellers. Be happy little girl! X

~She's in now Heather and has already got two home offers, so she'll stay until rehomed. She is very matted. After having tea and a visit to the garden I attended to freeing up her nether region so that she could squat easier and her vulva was caked in poo and matted hair. I think it was a relief for her, although she still hasn't tried to have a wee. She is currently lying in the kitchen as it is the coolest room. I have taken off the mats on her ears and cut through some of the mats on her flanks and top of her tail to free up movement. I'll see if the Vets in Stevenage have anyone available to clip her under sedation as it will be quickest. She has a lovely nature, and was very polite with our pack on meeting. She has tolerated me pulling her around and not so much as a murmur. She is bigger than first thought, around 24/25 to the shoulder, around the same size as Annie Heggie. But she is definitely a mix and in there is wolfhound and deerhound. More tomorrow. Off to bed shortly, although I think Bella (she responded to it and nothing else) will stay on the cold floor. A couple of photos of dinner and those mats. It must have taken a lot of effort for Jo and hubby to free up what they did. It really is so tightly matted right to the skin.

Well done for getting her in. She will feel so much better when those mats are off. Two home offers - no surprise there. Look forward to seeing where she goes!

Oh my goodness, she is gorgeous Reminds me a lot of our Kali, she has that same 'look' about her, not just her fur (and state she was found in) but with her soft expression. Very special indeed

Poor little one - obviously was, at the least, very neglected. Well done to the family who got her out. I hope she realises somewhere in her canine brain that the good times have started for her now!

We had a very quiet night. She slept on a fleece bed in the kitchen and even when Mollie came home at 3.30 a.m. yes 3.30 a.m.! she didn't make a murmur. I went down after Mollie came in and she wagged at me but didn't get up, so I turned off the last light and went to bed.
I haven't made much of a dent in the fur matt, honestly, the photos do not show how matted it is. It is like sheering a sheep! So, Fiona has recommend a grooming parlour. I have just rung them and she is booked in for a clip and bath at 12 o'clock. They estimate 2.5 hours and have quoted around £25.00. More than generous of them.
So, hopefully we will see a new Bella this afternoon.
She went out with the pack this morning, pulling to the end of the lead and changing sides, but nothing major. She got excited when Annie went off lead to play with her ball and barked for the first time, very low and one bark. Very cute. Back home and she was ravenous. Ate all her breakfast and each of them licked each other's plates.
She has been trying to get the front door open to find Michael. As with most of these dogs from Traveller sites, the women are the harsh dealers and the men more softer.
She does respond to her name Bella, so we will keep it at that until she goes.. Yes, she is going.
If we can get a homecheck very quickly in Hatfield Broad Oak, Bella will be lined up for a lovely new home with a couple who have just lost their dear Deerhound X to Kidney failure.
I'll get some more photos later, and ask the groomers to take some on my camera for the forum.
