What lovely updates on Floyd! He certainly has slotted in well, and sounds wonderful. I think you're all going to be very happy together!! However I have to wish you good luck with Phoebe! She sounds just like Jemima who would be on the go 24/7 if she had the appropriate brother/sister. Have a wonderfully happy life Floyd x

Having to watch all about Floyd, he looks just like Trix aka Skye. I know their was more in the litter. Could they be related? I found Skye's thread after reading your post and yes don't they look alike and also could be a similar age so who knows, perhaps they are litter mates. So, an update on this big lovable lummox He healed perfectly from his op, didn't fuss the site once but then again it was a very small incision they stitched up. When Floyd dragged me through the door to the vet's for a check-up the vet said they were quite small. In return for that comment Floyd delivered a wussy reaction to the after effect of his vaccination but was soon distracted by the bag of treats on offer and sat on my legs as I crouched down. That visit didn't put him off as at the final all-clear ''yes he can do zoomies again'' appointment he almost floored the nurse greeting her so enthusiastically. I couldn't wait for the day when he and Phoebs could run around again. Keeping him calm and away from her flaying claws in bitey sessions was exhausting. He's gained a little weight, now 25.50kg and still thinks nothing of climbing on you (literally) for a cuddle or sitting on you as you try to put your shoes on or doing the typical lurcher lean til you nearly fall over. If you lay down on the sofa he is liable to lay on top of you. In the mornings he gives a deep "Rooo Rooooo" as you come down the stairs. He is quite the conversationalist with rooing and woofing and is definitely a match made in heaven with Phoebs and her partner in crime. We haven't had a self combusting cushion for a while but they would appear to be back.. Butter wouldn't melt We've had a couple of early morning visits to the local arboretum where Phoebs and Kali enjoy a good scamper before the general populous appear, somewhere fenced to try out recall which by all accounts given his quick response at home, we hoped might continue somewhere new...and it did. What's more, by calling Floyd back Phoebe came back quicker too, not wanting to miss out on any rewards Floyd was getting He made new friends last week including Frankie another rescued lurcher and May a Leopard Tortoise. He also met Teri the African Grey Parrot who impersonates Floyd's deep bark. He is hilarious with the mimics he does. He calls out "Come on then!" which has Frankie, Floyd and Phoebe running to him time after time Comparing their tortoiseshell markings.. After their first session looning around together (lurchers that is, not the shell and featured species), this was the outcome.. Tired hounds. Yes!! Result!! The trio of new bestest buds met up most days this week and had an absolute blast together, a delight to see when their lives could've been so different. You can always rely on Phoebs to look her best Kali joined them yesterday too and did her best to keep up but invariably found them staring her in the face when they turned to charge back Footballs and balls in general no longer scare Floyd. He runs about with them and for the first time brought one in from the garden dropping it at my feet. How's this for a first class sit... "I like your sit." "I like your feathery bits." "Fancy a kick-about?" Another first was seeing him chase his tail. I'm sure he is learning from observing Phoebe, she does both of those things a lot. One thing I hope she doesn't learn from him is his stealth at stealing...last night it was left-over fillet steak cut-offs and chips from the table! I was only out of the room for a split second. There is no doubting his youthfulness in fact we are sure he is most probably younger than Phoebe He is more and more puppy like but in a big boy's body. As if life with the ginger nutter isn't challenging enough, now we've two! He does lots of bitey hands and arms with us, not just with Phoebe's head and legs, and this morning I came down to the patter of claws on the bathroom floor to see this...!!!! Even Phoebs with all her naughty antics hasn't done that! There is no denying Floyd loves life. Every piece of food he has is the best ever, every walk is like the best one he's ever had. He is so excited to be out and meeting whoever or what ever else is also out. I've likened him to Buddy the Elf from the same film. To him everything is so wonderful it's like every day is Christmas

FUN FUN FUN at your house. I think I'd be exhausted after a couple of hours in their company, sedate Greyhounds all the way for me with little tasters of lurcher inbetween. It's so lovely to see Floyd being so happy. and you too Sally

Fantastic update Sal. I am still laughing from when you send me the loo roll clip earlier! You don't need a TV, just watch the hounds - the best comedy show ever!! Salukis have to be the most bonkers dogs on the planet, but the most endearing! (and frustrating)!

Ahhhhh the Andrex puppy! That brings back memories as Snoop used to do that too. I'd forgotten how we once had to place loo rolls up high and also hide anything remotely chewable!

What a wonderful update and pictures, Sal, highly amusing and soo heart-warming!! Having been 'blessed' with those relentless over active puppy activities for a considerable time ourselves (no name said!) I can positively assure you that your adorable little lady will, eventually grow out of it ...... even if it means, you cannot count your grey hair any more during the progress until it actually happens! Thankfully, gorgeous Floyd has now joined your family and I am sure he will be a great help getting her through her teenager years - so don't despair! They soo love each other and, in some ways, they very much remind me of "The Lady and The Tramp" from my childhood memories as it is, indeed, a marriage made in heaven! What lucky hounds they are, having found each other!

What a lovely update. Just loved the Andrex bit. You never know what Floyd and Phebs will get up to next. Self exploding cushions, haven't seen those in the shops. Will look forward to your next posting, for sure you could do with eyes in the back of your head to keep up with these two!!
