Try ringing her Barney. Her number is on the website. She is a one woman Rescue, so emails are her last priority. At least you will then know.

Thanks guys for your continued good wishes - I have no words to convey how much they mean to me at this time.
Three days on & I've heard nowt from the rescue - I can only assume that for whatever reason they've deemed our home-kennel as not being appropriate for Sandy to spend her autumn years in. Oh, just catching up and so glad to see someone on here is interested in Sandy. We transported the two girls and I still keep thinking about Sandy as I thought she was really sweet. She was so upset at leaving her owner who had "rescued" her and it nearly brought tears to my eyes. Should we be needed to transport we know the route as I think Tilly came from there as well. Little hairy pup.

Regrettably all attempts to contact the rescue, (& there have been many), have failed miserably, & I'm beginning to believe that I should abandon all thoughts of Sandy as a companion for Annie, & look elsewhere for an alternative, even though she seems ideal.

So sorry Barney. Not very good of the rescue to not answer your calls.

Are you on Facebook? They have a page on there which is regularly updated! Alternatively I can give you Carolyn's personal number from the oldies club if you need it? Pm me if you want it! Penny X

Dogs go through the grieving process as we do. When we lost Eddie, Bobby shut down and just stared at the place where Eddie's bed used to be. We kept his routine and tried to take him out on new adventures and he eventually got his spirit up. We couldn't introduce a new dog due to Bobbies fear aggression. It is early days yet. Is Annie ready to accept a new friend?

Hang in Barney and Annie - if not Sandy (and don't give up on her yet) then another lovely oldie is waiting out there somewhere to join you both in the Home Kennel

Thanks Jenny, & also other members who are kindly coming up with suggestions. I'm trying very hard not to be over selective, but my preference would be a female rough coat, any age. ETA: + any size, any colour.
Annie is still very subdued indoors & has a 'take it or leave it' attitude towards treats, which is most unlike her. We did, though, have our best walk for over a week at 5.00 a.m., when she was much more interested in what was going on around her.
Further ETA: My own preferences matter not one jot of course - the most important, (indeed the only issue), is what would be the best outcome for Annie in terms of a new companion.
