One of our fellow rescues in Bicester has had a phone call from a member of the public saying that their next door neighbour is trying to offload two lurchers, and they want rid by tomorrow. One of the Lurchers seems to have growth in the jaw from what the neighbour can see. She can take them if we can help get them to her, and we may be able to offer fostering once they are in. Can anyone in the Hemel Hempstead area get to them and transport towards Bicester. This is very urgent for tomorrow. Ring me 07940555574 if you can help. Jennyx

We are not sure of the story now Chris. When heather got there the owners were very unhappy to be saying goodbye. At least we have helped.

Yes, the two lurchers were in good shape. The family had the house cleared when we arrived having to move from a Council house to a smaller flat. They were only able to take their Staffie with them. The lady seemed really upset and the white and fawn shaggy girl had been adopted by the family from a Rescue and she found it difficult to leave her owner, looking back and stopping. I hate these pickups.
They were both a dream in the car as I sat with them as reassurance and didn't want to leave the shaggy one. I've contacted the kennel since who after a bit of investigation did find a mass in the mouth. Truly lovely dogs so hopefully will find a home again.
Philip likes doing these transport trips and having just got back from Norfolk on Saturday 21,found us "on the road again" doing the second part of Hounds in the Pound run with a superb broken coated bitch. Oh, my poor heart aches.

They have both had to have ops. One for a small tumour in the mouth and neutered at the same time. This is what Annabelle emailed this week. Gwen - 9 Year old - Had her spayed and the lump on her gum removed, chipped and 1st vax. Good with people and other dogs. Sandy 9 years old - Had her spayed, had mammary split and lymph node removed, chipped and 1st vax. I a bit timid when she first meets people, good with other dogs
