We're hungry as well having left here at 13.30 and just got in at 19.35. Hour here on way to Carmel and a tea break with her and her fabulous hounds!
Jude, so far has seemed to be a darling. Quiet but relaxed in the car, introduced one by one to our lot and the greys, as usual just had a sniff but the two lurchers were a tiny bit vocal as they sorted each other out but all ok. Jude is a happy playful lady and very affectionate adoring bum scratches best.

Sorry for not updating sooner!!! Jude has settled in well. She is very friendly with everyone, has greeted dogs out and about with a waggy tail and a request to play, and this evening we went to see our lovely vet Helen for a check up and we played with a 10 week old cocker spaniel!!! Jude was very patient when it kept jumping up at her mouth ...... There are no sufficient words to describe this dog other than "perfect". It is early days, but there has been no sign of any negative behaviour. In fact, when we came back from our afternoon walk today (slightly drier than when we returned from our morning walk!!) we saw a neighbour's cat up the road which we had to approach in order to get home. Jude hardly paid any attention to it, so we just walked purposefully into the drive and down to the front door with no problem at all. The same yesterday morning, when a kamikaze rabbit ran right across the footpath in front of us - hardly any reaction. Jude is quite small, although she does carry a few extra pounds so I'll be keeping an eye on her eating habits! At her vet check up this evening she weighed in at 21.35kg. She is not particularly food oriented - she takes treats gently, and is picky about which ones she eats. Jude's second favourite spot in the house is the sofa. Her favourite spot is my bed so we've had to negotiate on that!!! Jude enjoying scritches from Uncle Philip, while Snoopy muscles in on the attention! Thanks for helping me, Uncle Philip & Aunty Heather!! Bright eyes! Oooh, that's the spot!!! "I like this sofa, but my foster mum needs to get me some comfier cushions!"

I don't believe it! No reaction to the cat, blimey. She looks to be enjoying the bum scritching, lovely girl.

Great update Carmel. I'm so pleased that she is adapting to her new life so well. I did think myself that she could do with losing a pound or two.......there must be some ribs under there somewhere. Good news about her non-reaction to the cat and bunny too.

Lovely update on a perfect hound. I agree she looks rather chubby but that will soon change.

Thanks for the update Carmel and what a wonderful one it is. She really is rather gorgeous, in a funny hairy way and I could have kidnapped her but I think Erin might of objected.

It's good to see this little girl settling in. It must be a confusing time for her, but she'll soon be getting in shape and I'm sure there'll be someone out there looking for a rough-coated girlie who will want to snatch her up soon. Well done Carmel for taking her in

Isn't she lovely? You may find she doesn't hang around long - these rough coat middle age ladies go like hotcakes in my experience - especially as she seems to have a rather special character and a very sweet nature.

I was amazed at how laid back she was when we stopped off here on the transport run for a cuppa. She met our four quite happily, wanted to be made a fuss of and was romping down the garden happily playing with toys.
A gem for someone and hopefully very soon.

Sorry to all the Jude fans for the lack of updates! I believe Jenny will start a new homing thread for her tomorrow, and I promise I will update and post lots of piccies. Jude (Judy) is gorgeous. Potential adopters are advised to form an orderly queue .....................
