I have begged my husband to let us help. She's the spitting image of our male saluki, Dudley, that we just lost in May! We live in Suffolk so within the 200 mile radius of Essex. Watch this space!

She was very good (although a bit subdued) at vet's - just one tiny little yelp She weighed in at 19.7Kg, & he thought she could do with at least another 2.. Cuddles administered.. but I don't need any excuse!

So pleased we got to meet this beautiful gentle soul yesterday, those eyes of her's just melt your heart. I took a few piccies... I was hoping to capture her face but a turn of her head and those flookie ears were a worthy picture Swoon You're in the best of hands Esther for lots of tlc and on the road to a very happy life From the moment I saw her she reminded me of a friends rescued Saluki, apart from his flowing ears anyway. Here's handsome Rupert... Be happy lovely little lady, you deserve it. Hope we get to see you again with a sparkle in your eye .

That did cross my mind ... he does have a Galgo sister rescued by GIN from Spain but I may have to unearth their email addy cos you never know. I think Esther would need to be cat friendly though.

Sally - thanks so much for taking those beautiful pics! Lovely to meet a few more new faces on the walk yesterday - Esther coped very well, but was definitely a little subdued by the end.. & she certainly did not take to the large sow that wandered into the pub garden I'm pleased to say she is trotting along more perkily now & loves her games in the garden - at home the tail is up! She is responding to her name & some basic commands.. though is easily distracted by the possibility of wabbits: strong prey drive there I think.. so possibly not cat friendly

This little soul is just beautiful, and I am sure her temperament is going to be the same. Someone is going to win the lottery with Esther

Good day yesterday: had to drive into town, so I decided to visit an elderly friend who recently went into a nursing home - we turned up unannounced & I was delighted when we were both welcomed in! Esther was impeccably behaved, despite the strange situation & patiently waited while I had a chat - she also brightened up the day for a couple of other residents who enjoyed petting her.. (maybe a future career as a PAT dog??) We then popped in to the vets for a quick weigh (also to let her know one doesn't always get the needle) ... she has put on .35kg in the week ;D .. so I guess I'm doing something right! She is still my shadow, but seems a little more confident in other ways. 'Do hurry up & put down that camera so you can throw the squeaky duck again...'
