Jax continues to be a welcome guest. He loves his walks and enjoys running about with the dogs we meet & Lizzie; upon returning home though he is more than happy to relax and rest... he continues to want to be near us if we move from the sofa but rather than being under our feet he will now happily lie close by with us in sight
Jax has grown up in his attitude a lot since he has been with us, he has less of a "puppy-play all the time" attitude and more of a "play-rest-play-rest" attitude. He remains unaware of his size and often bumps into the wall whilst turning and stands on toes Due to this we would say that Jax, despite being 100% child-friendly, he is not 100% toddler-friendly (only as he may accidently knock them over!!)
Jax loves playing with Isaac when he comes home and did miss his play mate whilst Isaac was away for a few days. On Isaac's return Jax was happy to say hello then settled back to sleep Isaac didn't return alone, he had my baby nephew with him... Jax coped well with having a small baby in the house. He was interested in what was making the screaming noise but happily left when told. Whilst baby was on the sofa Jax would happily come and place his head by baby's feet and enjoyed baby "stroking" (tapping and grabbing fur at times) his head... he also went and lay almost on baby's lap when baby was playing on the floor. Despite not being fully aware of his size Jax managed to always walk around the baby.
Jax has an excellent recall outside and is often the first one to acknowledge he's been called and the first one to act on the command. He will wait when told by fences and gates (though will go through them if you don't shout "wait" in time... upon "wait" he will come back in & wait nicely!!) Jax has learnt that there are times when he is allowed to run free and times when he must stay close by and times when "heel" is necessary.
Jax loves nothing more than snuggling up for cuddles at the end of the day. When Lizzie is up for cuddles (not enough room for 2 humans and 2 dogs on one sofa) Jax can do the cutest "pull-on-heart-strings" action.... he wil sit on other sofa and look longingly out of the window, head between the crack in the curtain; he will look at you with his puppy-dog-eyes and then return to looking longingly out the window
Someone is missing out on a wonderful dog
