Tag is continuing to be a delight to have as a houseguest We all went for a walk at Greenham common today, after a visit to P@H. Tag behaved impeccably. He was more adventurous today, often following Lizzie or going off for a sniff on his own rather than staying glued to our side he did keep popping back to us but only long enough for us to say "Good boy Tag" then off he'd head for another sniff ;D ;D ;D We meet another lurcher whilst out, both Tag and Lizzie said hello delightfully and then off for a game of chase for a few minutes... and Tag joined in, not quite as energetically as Lizzie or the other Lurcher but he ran with them and had a go at playing ;D ;D ;D ;D Both Tag and Lizzie have been resting since... on each others beds, the sofas, the top of the stairs... wherever they could Tags favourite seemed to be the sofa, snuggled up into the pillows ;D ;D ;D Tag seems to be getting more playful since he first came to us, at first when Lizzie tried to gently initiate play he would walk away and lie down, now he is happy to play (even though it is only a minute or 2) and then tonight he surprised us: Matt has just made them both get up to go for their evening walk and, although reluctant to move at first, when up on all four feet Tag immeadiately play-bowed to Lizzie and initicated a very gentle bitey face... Lizzie behaved and gently played.... then it was a play bow to Matt ready for the lead ;D ;D ;D He does however continue to look at Lizzie as if she is insane when she swaps precious comfort rest time for toy play during the time between walks

The house may be quiet Sarah but think of those cream cakes......!!!
Thanks for having him and great update - nice to have another view on him for people to read but you pretty much said it - he will make somebody (who has cream cakes) a perfect hound!!

I keep thinking he's not putting on weight but then if you compare photos he definitely is - just slowly. Not that keen on the snow - too cold for him but he did have a whizz around with Kezzie this morning.
Walked through sheep at heel and never looked at them so I would say pretty safe with stock and also other dogs of any size.
Not much to update on him really, he just plods along each day. He's obviously quite a traumatised dog who often thinks he's about to get walloped and isn't sure just yet about playing with you - he's quite nervous and unsure but there are glimmers of hope and he did have a clown about indoors with Kez yesterday which he's not done before.
Hardly notice he's here at all - except the markie supply goes down pretty quickly!

He's looking so much better Sara. The play will come in time. When we first took Buddy in he was worried about playing with our two, but little by little he started to relax. However sometimes he would start to play, but stop quickly with a worried look on his face. Now he is often the first one to instigate play!! Bless him. Keep up the good work, and more photos please - Tag is very handsome.

Tag is a rabbit!!!!!!!! Yeah..... finally this last couple of days he's found the strength in his legs to play rabbit with Kezzie. I almost cried yesterday when he took off up the field with her and started chasing and racing around ...... they came screeching back and Kezzie was just dancing with joy around him wrapping her legs round his neck!! He hasn't quite got the speed of Jake but she is clearly delighted that all her pushing and persuading has worked!!! Now sharing the big bed with him. Bless.

Well done with your persistance Kezzie... you have finally brought the play out of Tag ;D ;D ;D Well done Tag for letting your inner-play out ;D ;D ;D And well done Sara, if it wasn't for the love and home comforts that you have shown him since he has been with you then he wouldn't be looking as amazing as he is now & be relaxed enough to play Blurry screen he is such a sweetheart of a boy, it is lovely to hear that he has finally let go enough to start playing.... he really wanted to whilst he was here
