Well done for naming your boy and a relevant one it is too . Our list of names seems to be growing which isn't making it any easier. Want it to be right though.

Today he's mostly sleeping. I took all dogs a long walk before leaving them infront of the fire early this morning and then James got up and thought 'oh dogs need a walk' and took them another long walk..... hence crash out. He's still quiet but starting to wag tail alot and is eating well and sleeping well. Another easy night with little sound from him except bed rearrangement. Walks off the leader today and is in no hurry to go anywhere other than behind your heel. Kezzie did her best to get him to play with her but he wasn't really 'getting it' at all - I don't think play has been part of his life to date. Still smells so due bath no 2 later today. Lovely dog who is going to be a very loyal and loving little man.

Please ignore grubby horse rug - these witney blankets are warm though and smell alot better than he does! Please don't apoligise about the horse rug, sarar, I'm sure Tag does appreciate the warmth this rug gives him. A lovely update about Tag and thanks for the piccies. He looks quite relaxed and comfortable next to his mate and will be great friends after he has settled in and recovered from his ordeal. ........ Give him a few days and you will notice a big difference - and not just in the smell! Viviane. X

Sunday
Well reading Masie's thread is quite similar to what I might say about Tag. He's a gentle soul who is frankly more interested in the warmth of the house than going out into that cold air. Kezzie did her worst to get him to play with her today but clearly he was not getting the vibe at all. James even tried running up the field with him (see pics!!) but its quite hard to get him out of a trot. He's chirpy and jolly but just doesn't really see the need to go flying around the place. Wags his tail alot out on a walk and likes to be out and about but not racing about!
Walks off the lead all the time now and hasn't made a pitch to chase anything - pheasants interest him but a sharp Tag No and he makes no move to go anywhere.
Having some trouble interesting him in his food - he's very nervous about coming forward to eat - I should add here however that I left him and Basil with James TO WATCH and came back half an hour later to "I only left them for 5 minutes" and the entire Burbridges Bakery shop, 4 granary rolls, two fruit scones, french bread, one granary loaf and a couple of biscuits thrown in - gone!! No wonder he didn't want supper!!!
One thing clear is that he has most definitely been house-trained. Gave a clear I want to go out signal last night by standing by the door and off he went good as gold. Very odd that a dog who ended up in such a state in a shed has at some point been given time to instill some manners.
I also don't think he's been a coursing dog - he just doesn't give the signals at all - even when Kezzie is haring off after anything that moves he makes no sign of wanting to go with her - strange.
Smells a bit better today and skin is definitely less red and angry which is good.
He's pretty chilled out and we've had legs in the air this afternoon so I guess that's a sign that the shed days are behind him.

Yet another blurry screen here - what a lovely boy who, like his shed-sister has so quickly responded to love and care Bless you Sarar for taking Tag in and providing him with such a different experience of how life can (and now will) be Hugs and ear ruffles from me please. Audrey x

I'm sure his skin condition will soon improve - just give it a week or so and you won't recognise him anymore. But hey, has anybody noticed this boy is trying a "half roach?" ;D The way I see it, this can only be a good sign! Viviane. X

reading about Tag and the other female found in the shed - all sounds so horribly familiar to what we often find over here. These gentle, sensitive, highly intelligent dogs are nearly always in the hands of and at the mercy of the most dreadful people - Tag is looking good - well done for helping this lad - he looks very relaxed & knows he is with people who care very much for him .

A short update: Poor Tag has really been thrown in the sink or swim dog camp the last few days with this weather. I have 5 horses in/out with no water and frozen solid fields and a job (!) so it's been a nightmare with very little dog time but I have to say he's taken every day in his stride and has not been one bit of trouble. We were a long trip today in the car and he was an absolute gem - he doesn't like being in the back bit of the car so has plonked himself centre back seat with good all round views!
Getting to see a bit of his character coming through and he's had a few gallops in the field with Kezzie but still not progressed to her games much to her annoyance! She is next to him on the bed tonight though so she's working on him, however, like most things he doesn't seem to have noticed her!
He's been through sheep, chickens, didn't even look at them. Was quite keen to follow kez on a furry friend hunt this morning but when I stopped him did so on a sixpence and came right back even though Kez (deaf) did not.
He's still pretty quiet but is loving being warm and making lots of big sighs and stretches which is good to see. I have to literally drag him off the bed to go out for a wee! His skin is much better, less itchy and not so sore.
All in all coming along well - still thin but I think is alot less tucked up so just need to keep filling him up.

So pleased to read that he is doing so well Sara. Poor lad looks so worn out. He's gorgeous and so gentile looking.
