Logan looks very Pointery/Greyhound X Lurcher. Approx. 18 months old. Logan is being fostered with John and Viv. He was a lovely lad on the journey home and travelled with little big Tag and both got along famously. He is a little thin at the mo but Uncle John has already started feeding him up. No known history on him I'm afraid. Found wandering in Essex. Just a couple of photos. He is a beauty. He is now being fostered in Hertfordshire. I'll leave it for Uncle John and Aunty Viv to update you all.

Lovely markings but I'd say he's a bull x Jenny. I'm inclined to agree, its the width of his head. Love bull x's but I am biased as I have Chas.

I'm biased too for obvious thumping great reasons, but Logan isn't as bully-looking in the flesh as he looks here, particularly in profile! There's a definite pointery look to him.

Yep, the camera lies. He has a longer pointery look to him. Jules came with me yesterday and met the lovely Logan. He was a poppet today. Sniffed noses with little big Tag and was a real gentleman. He is a big 28/29 inches at the shoulder. The lips hang down like a pointer. Perhaps John and viv can pop on some photos tomorrow.

Themore I look at your photos John the more I think he *may* also have Great Dane in him - its the ears and side profile I think that makes me edge towards this but agree probably not a first X. Handsome boy whatever he is.

In some lights the width of his head makes him look bully, but the lips look wrong for a bull terrier but could be pointer. All this assumes he's a first cross. If he's a second cross he might have both. Does that mean if he sleeps in a crate tonight, he'll be in a bull-point pen? ;D

p.m.s.l. Jayne. He is 28 inches to 29 inches at the shoulder. Would have had to have been a tall staffie Could be great dane crossed with staffie ;D ;D When you meet him in the flesh you think Pointer and his mannerisms are like pointer. But I will leave it to his foster mum and dad to unfold his mysteries. How exciting. He trotts along so regal like. ;D

Needless to say, I haven't been near one for forty-odd years! ;D ;D ;D

Why's everybody always picking on me We didn't offer any courgettes because they're not in season. We had the last of our frozen courgettes last night, fried in butter, with pork chop and chips. Logan did not come up to the table and beg; he hasn't for the three meals we've had since he's been here - so that's good. Sleeping arrangements. On Friday Jack and Honey decided to sleep downstairs, so yesterday I didn't wake up with a fat lump giving me pins and needles (and no I'm not referring to Mrs D). Last night Honey decided to sleep downstairs and Logan stayed down, too. So this morning there was a fat lump giving me pins and needles. There were two small damp bits on the carpet, not neat and round, so I presume they were done by a dog (Logan) not a bitch (Honey). I think this will stop when he knows our routine and how long he has to hold on for. I think his height has been overestimated. I hadn't measured him till just now because a strange man coming at you with a yardstick is not always welcome. But he's Jack/Honey's size. He's more 26" tall, certainly smaller than Spot who was 27-28". He's slightly longer in the back than Honey. He has a very thin tail, which was between his legs when walking out, but isn't now. More info follows as we discover more.

At last, proof that our bathroom scales tell lies. We double checked his height and he is 26" to the shoulder. (I think you overestimated because any person taller than 5'4" must be a giant to you and any dog taller than Sofi - "huge".)
I then guessed his weight, and knowing that Honey is about 25kg and that Logan is skin and bone I estimated 22kg.
I got on scales and clocked 97kg (fully clothed, pockets full of change), then weighed the two of us and we weighed 125kg (according to Mrs D), which makes him 28kg. So we tried again and got the same results.
I think our scales must overstate by 20%, which makes me a sylph like 78kg (12 st 4lb) and Logan 22.4 kg.
Mrs D thinks it overstates her weight - she always knew she was only 8 stone!
There you go, instant weight loss.
Walked Logan, a really good boy, sat and watched while the other two had a run. He leans. He hasn't barked yet. Poops in garden, not house.
In fact he's a "thornless logan(berry) LY654" ;D ;D ;D
