Keeping our fingers crossed weather-wise... Meanwhile, a little update. We took Peppa to the vet this morning. Our vet couldn't make it in through the snow but the senior nurse did, so Peppa's had her 2nd vax, including Kennel Cough. And she was really good - far too busy scoffing puppy treats to worry about minor distractions like an injection. We weighed her again - 14.3Kg this time. A healthy 3.4Kg gain in exactly 3 weeks. As she came with a UTI, and then had an upset tummy after her first vax, we're very pleased with that. Maybe she is going to be a donkey after all? As you can see from the photos, she's definitely got a lot more hairy, is looking much more grown up, and is starting to grow a tiny little beard too. It doesn't suit some girls, but it's gonna look great on this one! She was a bit puzzled by the snow when she went out for ablutions this morning, but soon realized it was just fun. Later on, she didn't hesitate and went belting up the garden path to follow the big dogs into the field. They had nearly half an hour of charging about in it, and all loved it. Here we go: Wossall this then? (After a lot of rootling about ) Does my nose look cute in this? Hey, I can still stalk Lucy, I'm sooo good at this... Now, I just need to head the others off at the pass. Here I am with my friend Lucy having a good time! Come on , I know you've got more treats in you pocket! Angie

Well, the lovely Peppa has gone safely off to a new life, a new set of adventures and her forever home Here she is, enjoying the last morning with us: I love running! My legs go all over the place! Hey! My head goes one way, but my ears go the other! But Peppa knew today was different, like all dogs, she was picking up on something that told her "her" humans were different today. When she went by herself, as usual now, for a wee at about 4:30am, she came back and jumped up on the bed, but then dived under the covers and crawled on top of me before falling asleep - having never done this before. Later, she picked at her breakfast (another first), then didn't eat all her homemade breakfast after her run (unheard of for any dog!). (Although she managed enough to be sick in the car, twice. ) She was tardy about coming in from the garden, ignoring both of us - for the first time ever. She even ran round the duck pen, having ignored them totally since she came here. She's not that keen on travelling yet; it's only ever meant upheaval to her so far . So she was looking really quite worried when we met up with Jacob and Noah near Warminster. Jacob was very calming though, and had some very yummy treats, and she soon put her paws on his shoulders to give him the first lurchery . There'll be a lot more of those to come Jacob! And plenty for the rest of the family too! I don't really know what's going on, but you seem like a nice human. It was really tough for both of us to turn around, walk away, drive off and leave her with Jacob and Noah. Yes, there were a few of these, and Nick is still pretty emotional even now. But we knew it would be easier for Peppa if she watched us leaving her with Jacob, rather than watching us while Jacob was taking her away - but it's sooo hard to do. We are really chuffed that she'll be keeping her name, and we had some nice texts to say she had settled down on the ferry, no doubt charming lots of passengers on the journey to her new home. Be happy, little one, we've loved having your company for the last few weeks. Can't wait to see pictures of this little donkey lurcher growing up! Angie & Nick x

Mary and Jacob sent these lovely pictures of a happy Peppa, and some very happy children. They really made us smile. Way to go Peppa! ;D Peppa in her downstairs crate, with a special name sign of her own: Peppa with Noah, who came to collect her with Jacob: I think this is Daisy. She was feeling poorly, but Peppa seems to have cheered her up: And showing one lurcher puppy can easily cope with two cuddles at once... Screen's gone all blurry... Angie & Nick
