Barley was found after a raid by police. She is only a baby, around 10 months of age. She is a quiet little girlie and at the moment so eager to please everyone. She has been to the vets and given a good bill of health, although thin and needing some tlc. She is being fostered in Suffolk. Barley will be looking for a home where someone is around most of the time for her, as she needs some TLC and fun in her life. Please email at jenny@southernlurcherrescue.org.uk. or download the application form at the front of the website. Do you have a big heart, a big lap and love for Barley? I am sure Stacey will update her thread shortly.

Claire took Barley to school with her today...... I was waiting to hear how it went.
In an auditorium with 120 odd kids singing grease full belt, full stage works, drilling, building work, dancing, singing, fussing, shouting and all the other stuff that goes on in a secondary school rehearsal for the school production Barley mostly....................................slept,got up and moved so she could sleep next to Claire's piano, moved so she could sit with the kids and enjoy the fuss. When the kids were not performing they took her for a walk around the grounds, when she needed to go out she sat by the door (after going to get Claire). She was amazing. We expected it to be daunting and maybe a bit of a challenge and were well prepared for some kind of hiccup but nothing she wasn't even scared she was just relaxed and having a nice time. Enjoyed being out and about, loved the kids. She is a real star!!!She will make somebody very, very happy. There are now 116 kids in love with this pretty little girl. Hopefully she will find a home in the same town where the school is so will see lots of new friends on most walks she goes on. Fingers crossed. So here we are this evening with one extremely tired baby dog. We have moved her bed in front of the radiator and she has slept since tea time. We have joined her for a cuddle and she is lovely. Awwwww my heart strings are being thoroughly tugged.

Hi everyone. I've been following the various threads on this website for a few weeks now and felt it was time to introduce myself. I am hoping to find my forever dog and have seen this thread on Barley, who I think is gorgeous, and am wondering if you know if she is cat friendly or is it too early to know yet?

Having been on our walks she is fairly interested in small furry rabbit type characters, but this said she has no prey instinct with our small little dogs. It is a bit early to tell I think but as soon as I have worked it out I will update you all x

Hello - we are new to this rescue site, but we have been looking to rehome a dog, all agreed on a lurcher and Barley is beautiful - probably exactly what we are looking for! I know someone else has expressed an interest in her, but if that doesn't go ahead for any reason, could we be considered please? Thanks!
Presume my first step is to get a home check done?
